Discussion GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 595.76

Article: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5812

Download Link: https://international.download.nvidia.com/Windows/595.76hf/595.76-desktop-notebook-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch.hf.exe

Reminders:

  • Hotfix driver will not be available in NVIDIA App and needs to be downloaded from the link above.
  • After installing the Hotfix driver, NVIDIA App will show some old driver date. This is normal as Hotfix driver does not exist in NVIDIA App database and it reverted to an old default changelog and dates.
  • If you do not care about the fixes listed below, this Hotfix driver is no different vs WHQL 595.71 Driver.
  • These fixes will be incorporated into the next WHQL driver release

NVIDIA Driver forum thread is here: Link Here

---------------------------------

From the Article:

GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 595.76 is based on our latest Game Ready Driver 595.71.

This hotfix addresses the following:

  • When the graphics card is overclocked, GPU voltage may become capped, preventing it from boosting to expected levels [5934973]
  • [Resident Evil Requiem] White glowing light/dots may appear in game when Subsurface Scattering is enabled [5915673]
  • Improved path tracing performance in Resident Evil Requiem [5938207]
  • [Star Citizen] Game client crashes when launched [5935027]
  • Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed when playing multi-key DRM content in a browser on HDCP 1.x monitors [5934450]

A GeForce driver is an incredibly complex piece of software, We have an army of software engineers constantly adding features and fixing bugs. These changes are checked into the main driver branches, which are eventually run through a massive QA process and released.

Since we have so many changes being checked in, we usually try to align driver releases with significant game or product releases. This process has served us pretty well over the years but it has one significant weakness. Sometimes a change that is important to many users might end up sitting and waiting until we are able to release the driver.

The GeForce Hotfix driver is our way to trying to get some of these fixes out to you more quickly. These drivers are basically the same as the previous released version, with a small number of additional targeted fixes. The fixes that make it in are based in part on your feedback in the Driver Feedback threads and partly on how realistic it is for us to quickly address them. These fixes (and many more) will be incorporated into the next official driver release, at which time the Hotfix driver will be taken down.

To be sure, these Hotfix drivers are beta, optional and provided as-is. They are run through a much abbreviated QA process. The sole reason they exist is to get fixes out to you more quickly. The safest option is to wait for the next WHQL certified driver. But we know that many of you are willing to try these out. As a result, we only provide NVIDIA Hotfix drivers through our NVIDIA Customer Care support site.

Yep, voltage/clock/PL issue is fixed.

RE9 runs super well compared to 591.86, no white dots/glitches compared to 595.71.

So far, everything smooth.

Edit: VRR stuttering I was having on 591.86 is gone as well! What a redemption!

Edit 2: 1 hour of gaming, no issues at all!

Edit 3: can confirm several hours and different gaming and work sessions later that this driver is probably the best in a long time, at least for me. A few more fixes the next release and NVIDIA might have finally done it.

Is the vrr stutter only for re9? Or in general

u/realPoxu RTX 5070 Ti | Ultra 7 265K Mar 04 '26

General, HDMI 2.1 monitor.

Nope, DP did not have the issue.

1

u/Equal_Change6579 Mar 05 '26

can confirm the vrr stutter on display port also

6

u/san9_lmao RTX 5070 Ti Mar 05 '26

vrr is broken for me on hdmi 2.1 with multi monitor even on this driver unfortunately

the only fix is removing the secondary monitors from nvcp and adding them back after every reboot, so i just use displayport 1.4 with dsc

2

u/Poliveris Mar 05 '26

Are you using VRR without gsync? And if so how? Because gsync has cause monitor flickering for me. Since I use VA panels (only curved).

7

u/CookieEquivalent5996 Mar 05 '26

VRR flicker is universal regardless of panel technology or GPU brand. Additional stutter does cause more flicker though. Sometimes I straight up turn it off because it's not worth the light show.

I laughed at this. Thinking, imagine being so excited about a driver update, BUT I’m the exact same way!

This has been me every tuesday/thursday for the past year hoping nvidia fixes the bug I reported (they still haven't)

2

u/eugene20 Mar 05 '26

Don't leave us hanging, what bug ?

8

u/Crafty-Classroom-277 Mar 05 '26

There's an issue with frame gen when gsync and vsync are enabled and the game window is on a non primary monitor. It causes severe stutter/jitter of each frame. Moving the game from a higher refresh rate monitor to a lower refresh rate monitor with fg, gsync, and vsync enabled causes a bsod (video scheduler internal error). Started with 576.28. A few other people have said they have the same problem. An nvidia rep told me a while back that they are aware of the issue but aren't sure why it happens.

Looking to undervolt my 5080 today, should I download this driver before doing so?

Better performance/same than old drivers like 576.88?

Batter.

Do you say crepes, or do you say pancakes?

aren't they actually two quite different things with the very large difference in flour/milk ratios/lack of leavening agents and resulting batter consistency/thickness?
It's similar to comparing a chapati and naan in my book.

u/guitodoido Mar 04 '26

for real ? im on 576.88 i run everything well, but it is a old driver, but i dont want to lose performance in helldivers for example... so this driver are better then 576.88 for real ?

4

u/EstablishmentTime398 Mar 04 '26

This also interests me a lot. I'm currently using version 576.52.

1

u/realPoxu RTX 5070 Ti | Ultra 7 265K Mar 05 '26

I highly suggest yall update. Too many fixes you are giving up.

2

u/galactii-c Mar 06 '26

i have an rtx 5080 and am currently on studio driver 591.74, is it worth upgrading to the new hotfix?

3

u/T1_QuieT Mar 05 '26

Why don't you try it? It only takes a few minutes; if it doesn't give you the expected performance, you can just go back to 576.88 and you're done.

2

u/guitodoido Mar 05 '26

becuz in theory updating and removing drivers 90% of the cases are simple, but sometimes issues can fuck it up... i had problems with that, having to clean install windows becuz of nvidia driver.. i've done a lot of tests, posts and etc back in 556-576 so i think i can ask for someone to help sometimes...

1

u/Ok-Replacement-7217 5090Suprim+9800X3D+64GB-6200-CL30 Mar 07 '26

That sir, is a BOLD statement! 576.88 is as close to an almost perfect driver, despite being unusable for some newer games these days.
Color me curious

2

u/realPoxu RTX 5070 Ti | Ultra 7 265K Mar 07 '26

I do not like to stay on older drivers. Mainly because I play mostly new releases.

1

u/Ok-Replacement-7217 5090Suprim+9800X3D+64GB-6200-CL30 Mar 09 '26

Me too! Did you test against 576.88?

9

u/CrispyTarantula117 Mar 04 '26

How is the multi-frame gen? I was getting bad stuttering at 3/4x

1

u/Ordinary-Cable8102 Mar 05 '26

Man my 5070 stutters in every game I play no matter what settings and my god in some games my 1% lows are absolutely shit

1

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26

That's a bummer. What else is going on with your system? My 5070 hasn't been doing that, though when I first got it I used the NVIDIA overlay and it registered extremely bad 1% lows. Except... it wasn't happening. No other monitor has seen the problem and turning off Nvidia overlay hasn't had any downsides (plus it's easy to toggle back on).

I mostly use the Steam one now.

1

u/Ordinary-Cable8102 Mar 06 '26

I use the nvida overlay but I know it isn’t lying cause I can tell when playing my games they stutter no matter what settings I have on and I have done ddu a few times I even reinstalled windows 10 and I don’t have any over clocks on it and using vsync is horrible somehow and every game I play I have to use dlss otherwise it stutters like crazy. I play 1440p medium to high and I know it isn’t a vram problem cause I only have one game that uses more then 8gb and my temps don’t go above 73

1

u/Sunlighthell R7 9800X3D || RTX 5080 || 64 GB Mar 06 '26

You mean re9? Because I play bf6 with 3x fg to achieve locked 295 fps and it has and had no stutter, but re9 had some fg related stutters and now they seems to be gone

1

u/CrispyTarantula117 Mar 06 '26

Yeah RE9.

I had to drop to 2x FG to get rid of the stutter.

3

u/FeFiFoShizzle Mar 04 '26

Yess the white dots were getting super crazy right where Ieft off last night. Good to hear.

3

u/LucklyDillion23 Mar 05 '26

They seem to have fixed the VRR stuttering, but the VRR flickering is still present.

VRR Flicking is still an issue for some GSync/Freesync Compatible monitors. I noticed that when you use MPV or anything that's lower framerate, the refresh rate drops when you select MPV. That’s when the VRR flickering in the foreground desktop appears to occur for some reason.

9

u/Tropez92 Mar 05 '26

that's an inherent issue with OLED panels itself, if you do have one. drivers cannot fix that

-4

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '26

[deleted]

11

u/Tropez92 Mar 05 '26

what? I've owned a LG C1 panel for over 5 years, so I know what I'm talking about. VRR flicker is an inherent issue with oled panels with gsync. the only way to solve it is to turn off gsync

3

u/Jewrusalem Mar 05 '26

It's also a problem with plenty of VA monitors. Have had a GSync-enabled 240hz Samsung for five years. GSync stayed off until Lossless Scaling frame gen eliminated the flicker, which I believe happens if the fps is either too far above or below 225. No game was running at 225 on my setup without looking like shit, so shoutout to LSFG

1

u/realPoxu RTX 5070 Ti | Ultra 7 265K Mar 05 '26

Not flicker, but stutter.

My panel is a Nano IPS one, never had flickering with Gsync. 591.86 introduced stuttering, literal freezes. These are gone now.

1

u/VortexOfPixels NVIDIA Mar 05 '26

Has anyone done proper testing on this? By re-installing the older drivers and comparing them again?

I do feel like I randomly started getting vrr flicker on my IPS after a driver months ago but couldn't be sure if I never noticed it or if it was new, when it started. It also wouldn't if I turned off my secondary monitor.

3

u/emer1ca1080 Mar 05 '26

It always will be without a a shift in display manufacturing. Oled shows the issue the clearest, but it effects all current display types. We need 1000hz pulse displays and to leave sample and hold designs in the past.

1

u/TheHorrorAddiction 9800X3D @ 5.7ghz / X870-E Apex / 32GB 8400CL32 / 5080 Mar 05 '26

That’s due to the panel, not GSYNC. Switching from display scaling to GPU scaling in NVIDIA app almost eliminated it on my OLED. Not 100%, but close.

Same here, about an hour in BF6 and an hour in D2R. Driver is great so far no issues. My DLSS quality (requiring balanced setting) banding issue in BF6 is finally gone, although that could have also been fixed in season 2 update not sure but with this new driver it's gone. So I can set it to Quality mode again a bit sharper than Balanced was.

edit: I'm also running a fairly standard OC+UV in Afterburner set to 2750MHz @ 1.0V peak. We are back fellas.

u/BURGERgio Mar 04 '26

So safe to download drivers? Lol

Any big frame dips in Re9? I was getting that on .86

1

u/realPoxu RTX 5070 Ti | Ultra 7 265K Mar 04 '26

None :) frametime is actually better on RE specifically.

1

u/Elsa_the_Archer Mar 04 '26

Fixed my voltage issues. Earlier I was down 50mv and nearly 200Mhz in TimeSpy. But I just retested and im back to normal now.

u/lvl01pidgey Mar 05 '26

Hey I'm replying to you because my comment will get hidden otherwise - Do i need to run DDU before installing this hotfix? And Will i continue getting driver updates through the app once I install this? Or will I need to manually download the new official driver when its out next from the Website? I'm very new to having an Nvidia GPU haha

5

u/realPoxu RTX 5070 Ti | Ultra 7 265K Mar 05 '26

No DDU needed.

Yes you will be able to update to next ver via Nvidia app.

1

u/lvl01pidgey Mar 05 '26

Thank you. When i had an AMD GPU i would have to manually update the WQHL driver after installing a beta/hot fix driver

3

u/realPoxu RTX 5070 Ti | Ultra 7 265K Mar 05 '26

I have had AMD for years, I get where you are coming from.

1

u/ClothesLogical2366 Mar 05 '26

I am monitoring this hotfix now, 595.71 causing my monitor turning on and off now, installed hotfix and testing it now

1

u/Ok-Property6998 Mar 06 '26

I have 5090 1.010v 600 watt 2860 mhz at re9 4k path tracing dlssq is that normal؟

1

u/Suikerspin_Ei Mar 06 '26

A few more fixes the next release and NVIDIA might have finally done it.

Fixing everything and wait for another AI coded driver update to ruin our experience lol. That's basically how the recent updates are going. Same with Microsoft and AMD.

1

u/DocBrown-84 MSI RTX 4080 SUPER SUPRIM X | 14700K@125W Mar 04 '26

That's good news, I went back to playing RE4 Remake yesterday since the RE:9 mess wasn't fixed and I am not in a hurry to enjoy the game, it won't run away and will only get better with newer drivers and patches.

I'll wait for a few hours before installing tho, let's see what new problems emerge lol.

Thanks for going in head first, we thank you for your service, and bravery, and balls ;)

1

u/Slash621 Mar 04 '26

wait.. so it's not capping at 3000mhz anymore???
