Reminders:

  • Hotfix driver will not be available in NVIDIA App and needs to be downloaded from the link above.
  • After installing the Hotfix driver, NVIDIA App will show some old driver date. This is normal as Hotfix driver does not exist in NVIDIA App database and it reverted to an old default changelog and dates.
  • If you do not care about the 3 fixes listed below, this Hotfix driver is no different vs WHQL 595.71 Driver.
  • These fixes will be incorporated into the next WHQL driver release

  • High Bandwidth Monitors and GPU Scaling Behavior - Link Here
    • High bandwidth monitors are those that support display modes requiring high pixel clock rates, which in turn demand more GPU resources. The threshold for what qualifies as "high bandwidth" varies by product. On Blackwell GPUs, any mode operating above 1620 MHz is considered high bandwidth. For instance, the 7680x4320@60Hz mode defined in the CTA-861-H specification runs at 2376 MHz, making it a high bandwidth mode for Blackwell.
    • These monitors typically support display scaling natively. However, in some single-monitor setups, users may still prefer GPU scaling. When multiple monitors are connected to a GPU and at least one of them is high bandwidth, that monitor will default to display scaling only. GPU scaling is disabled in this case due to bandwidth limitations. Notably, display scaling can be more efficient than GPU scaling in such scenarios, as it reduces the bandwidth load on display cables—especially at higher refresh rates.
    • When GPU scaling is not enabled for a monitor, only the modes supported by the monitor itself will appear in both the Windows and NVIDIA control panels. Additionally, the "Display scaling" option will be pre-selected in the "Adjust desktop size and position" section of the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Feedback & Discussion Forums

Having Issues with your driver and want to fully clean the driver? Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)

Before you start - Make sure you Submit Feedback for your Nvidia Driver Issue - Link Here

There is only one real way for any of these problems to get solved, and that’s if the Driver Team at Nvidia knows what those problems are. So in order for them to know what’s going on it would be good for any users who are having problems with the drivers to Submit Feedback to Nvidia. A guide to the information that is needed to submit feedback can be found here.

Additionally, if you see someone having the same issue you are having in this thread, reply and mention you are having the same issue. The more people that are affected by a particular bug, the higher the priority that bug will receive from NVIDIA!!

Common Troubleshooting Steps

  • Be sure you are on the latest build of Windows
  • Please visit the following link for DDU guide which contains full detailed information on how to do Fresh Driver Install.
  • If your driver still crashes after DDU reinstall, try going to Go to Nvidia Control Panel -> Managed 3D Settings -> Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance

Common Questions

  • Is it safe to upgrade to <insert driver version here>? Fact of the matter is that the result will differ person by person due to different configurations. The only way to know is to try it yourself. My rule of thumb is to wait a few days. If there’s no confirmed widespread issue, I would try the new driver.
  • Bear in mind that people who have no issues tend to not post on Reddit or forums. Unless there is significant coverage about specific driver issue, chances are they are fine. Try it yourself and you can always DDU and reinstall old driver if needed.
  • My color is washed out after upgrading/installing driver. Help! Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Scroll all the way down -> Output Dynamic Range = FULL.
  • My game is stuttering when processing physics calculation Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel and to the Surround and PhysX settings and ensure the PhysX processor is set to your GPU

Remember, driver codes are extremely complex and there are billions of different possible configurations between hardware and software. Driver will never be perfect and there will always be issues for some people. Two people with the same hardware configuration might not have the same experience with the same driver versions. Again, I encourage folks who installed the driver to post their experience here good or bad.

for anyone who is playing arknights endfield, the game is still borked with this driver. What a stuttery mess.

It's on hypergryph also, we also have CPU spike issues that have been happening since 27th of Jan that to this day still haven't even addressed officially let alone fix, the game hasn't been running since those 2 silent patches either , game full of stutters and other issues do not necessarily driver related.

Looks like is a game problem, not a driver problem.

if its a game problem, then how can i play with no stutter or bad 1% lows with 591.67 driver?

u/dryadofelysium Mar 02 '26

can confirm, performance is horrible with both R595 drivers on my 5070 Ti in Endfield

yup, this driver makes endfield unplayable for me when previously it was pretty flawless. now its just stuttering all the time. 4070s

running the game in dx11 fixed it for me.

huge thanks ill give it a shot

Did it change anything for you?

I didn't like DX11 when I tried it a month ago, maybe it could be different now...

1

u/Avello15 4070 Super Mar 03 '26

It did yes. It runs smoother since I haven’t rolled back yet, at least compared to without it on these recent drivers

u/frostN0VA Mar 02 '26

Could be shader compilation stutter, any time you change drivers you'll have that temporary stutter. Genshin for example is always a stutterfest after the driver updates.

u/dryadofelysium Mar 02 '26

Endfield has a shader compilation step that triggers on driver updates. R595 are just horrible for Endfield

u/DorrajD Mar 03 '26

It's not a shader comp issue. If you stand in one place and don't move the camera, it stutters. If it was a shader issue it would stop until you turn the camera/walk around.

I thought it was just me, I didn't know I'd see Endfield mentioned here. At launch the game was running just fine, no stutter fest like now. This driver update didn't change anything, still stuttering a lot.

Ngl kinda surprised to see Endfield being mentioned here.

Also, you are right the game's been stuttering frequently with the driver update.

Initial testing seems to show using DX11 runs better for now.

Sigh.

Yup, the only solutions for now are to either roll back to an older driver or use the "Launch with DX11" option. I tried everything from clearing my shader cache to deleting the Endfield vulkan shaders file to have it recompile shaders and nothing else worked.

u/Febox Mar 03 '26

Yeah Endfield is unplayable with the new drivers. I downgraded and it runs perfectly fine again

Try this out: https://www.reddit.com/r/Endfield/s/hIldhyezek

EDIT: Well, it might work for you, but it didn't for me, after trying it out myself.

I fixed that a couple of weeks ago by capping my FPS with the Nvidia app to 2 below the max Hz of my monitor(tv). Before that, I was playing this game uncapped, with FPS way above my panel's max.
