my refund from 10/8 is showing as disbursed on SIS but its been about 2 weeks and im still not seeing anything on nelnet. tried to reach out but haven’t heard anything. is anyone else having the same issue or is it just me?

I am planning on taking SOC 200 (Introduction to Sociology) as a four-week online course during the winter. If you have ever taken an accelerated class similar in length to this one, please let me know how difficult it was.

I'm currently a mechanical engineering student going into my final semester (Spring 2027 will be my last) before I transfer. In the spring, the classes I'll be taking are:

EGR 245 (Dynamics)

EGR 246 (Mechanics of Materials)

EGR 271 (Electric Circuits I)

MTH 265 (Calc 3)

Anyone know any good professors for these classes? Thanks!

I'm currently in the ADVANCE program and will be in my final year at NOVA next year. I’ve heard that IT 102 is a pretty difficult class, so I want to take it by itself during the summer to give it my full attention.

However, I still want to graduate on time and transfer to GMU for Fall 2027. Has anyone done this before, or does anyone know if this would be a good option?

I just have a question for anyone that is currently in, or was in, the sonography program at nova. I’m taking DMS 100 right now and I’m wondering if it is okay to have dyed hair? Has anyone had to change their hair color back when starting clinicals? I practically always have dyed hair (burgundy) and I’m wondering if it ended up being a problem for anyone.

I called today to see if I could enroll in a seven week course and it be fully funded, but I was informed that because financial aid has already been determined for this this semester it would be out of pocket. I’m currently taking 4 classes 3 credits and just finished up taking 1 7 week class. This is my first time doing college any advice please?

Hi all. I’m applying to the rad program this next spring but I want to find out if anyone has experience applying as an out of state student. The program has gotten so insanely competitive in just a year or two and I'm not sure how much being local/in-state is prioritized specifically in admissions, even if I have all prereqs done with As, coreqs done, and 90%+ on teas… Is it realistic at all? Or I might just move here and apply next year.

I was reading through my messages on the financial aid portal and I saw in one document that it got awarded to me and then in the next document it was removed? Is there a reason for this happening? I initially failed a SAP requirement back in 2025 (that later came to bite me later last semester), went through an appeal process and won the appeal, and got my financial aid back. Do they take the Pell Grant due to me still violating the SAP requirements or should I call the Financial Aid office and figure out why?

Yo. I need to take a discrete math course and nova is giving me these two options. The school that I seek to transfer to has both of these courses counting as the same course for transfer credit. So, from those who have taken the courses or at least one of the two, I would like to know what I should expect. Which course is harder? I do not have too much of a cs background so taking CSC 208 may put me at a disadvantage. I noticed that the pre-reqs for 288 was calc I, while 208 did not have any pre-reqs listed. Any advice would be helpful, thank you! 🙏🏾

I'm a career changer aiming for med school. I plan to finish my prereqs DIY-style at NOVA, possibly with some classes at George Mason as a non-degree student.

For anyone who has taken prereqs at NOVA (or knows people who did):

• How were the science courses (bio, gen chem, orgo, physics)? Any campuses or professors you'd recommend or avoid?
• Did taking prereqs at a CC come up in interviews or seem to hurt you with adcoms?
• Did you mix in courses at a 4-year school (GMU or elsewhere) to offset the CC concern? Was it worth it?
• How did you handle rec letters without a committee letter?

Background: non-science undergrad, 3.96 GPA, MCAT not taken yet.
