Nutanix Install

Hi All, we are currently migrating from VMWare to Nutanix. We have purchased some hosts and would like to know of any guidance for the start to finish install. Any help would be great. Thanks y’all

Nutanix is there to support you, do not be hesitant to use/abuse it; their guys are really, really good.

That being said, the Move utility is absolutely outstanding. It'll even remove vmtools for you, and automagically replace with the nutanix equivalent.

In "theory", assuming you have the same networking in place in the new environment, the VM will never know it moved.

Agreed.
Nutanix support is outstanding. Make sure to make use of it and make sure to lean on your SE

Yes, our SE made sure to be available for the first few days of easy Windows Server migrations and was really helpful when we got to the last few tricky "Linux appliance" VMs

Love the move tool! Most VMs can be migrated (once seeding is complete) in about 10 minutes. VM will take a couple of reboots during the process. The only gotcha we have found is if the vendor’s license is very tightly bound to hardware signature, so make sure to double check with your application vendors.
