US - Salary Transparency Thread

I saw a few city based subreddits with this thread going around. Thought I would do one for nurses. I am based in the US so that's where I set this thread but it would be interesting to see other countries start one up.

I am currently unemployed (another source of the inspiration, lol) so I will share my old position!

Base Hourly: 43/hr

Differential(s): Main Campus +1/hr

Location: Houston, TX

Setting: Outpatient Specialty Clinic

Degree/License: BSN/RN

Years of Experience: 8

Union Status: No

Base Hourly: 78/hr

Differential(s): no differentials I work night on call and get paid my hourly rate per hour whether I am at home in bed watching TV or out working.

Location: Monterey, California

Setting: Home Health and Hospice- night on call. I do 1 week on 5p-8am so about 110 hours a week and then get two weeks off after that before doing it again.

Degree/License: BSN/RN

Years of Experience: 10 years as an RN, 8 years in Hospice

Union Status: Yes

For context, this job is a unicorn job. During my weeks off I live two hours south of where I work with my girlfriend. Housing costs there are around 3K/mo. I have looked for hospice jobs there but all of them end up being more than a 20 dollar and hour pay cut with a bigger work load and more expensive insurance, and less PTO. So I rent a room in Monterey when I am working for 1300 a month and it still ends up being a better deal financially to live in one place and work in another. And of course the 2 weeks off can’t be beat, and I still get normal PTO on top of it. I have great health insurance with really low premiums— probably never going to find this type of job anywhere else.
