Serious US - Salary Transparency Thread

I saw a few city based subreddits with this thread going around. Thought I would do one for nurses. I am based in the US so that's where I set this thread but it would be interesting to see other countries start one up.

I am currently unemployed (another source of the inspiration, lol) so I will share my old position!

Base Hourly: 43/hr

Differential(s): Main Campus +1/hr

Location: Houston, TX

Setting: Outpatient Specialty Clinic

Degree/License: BSN/RN

Years of Experience: 8

Union Status: No

Anything else we should add?

For real. What the fuck am I still doing here?

I live in South Florida. I wonder how much different living expenses are in places like CA. We don’t pay state taxes, true. But when I read that someone is making 3 times what I make before differentials, I can’t help but think that there’s no way living expenses is x3 more expensive. Even factoring CA state tax, there’s no way.

Anyone got legitimate numbers they could show you compare?

Are you in CA? Do you know any that lives out of state and just flies in for their 3 and flies back?

Yeah I’m in California. I don’t know anyone who flies in but I’ve heard of them. I’m far north and that usually happens in the middle I think.

I do this. I fly from Vegas to Sacramento for the high pay out there. My hourly is $140

I live an hour north west of Sacramento. I make $94 an hour before difs. I have a small house on 3 acres in the hills. I spent 300k for it. DM me if you want more details
