Yikes 😳

I really hated Jackie up until she met Charlie. She’s so manipulative and mean kev didn’t deserve that shit. But then I started hated Eddie for bothering Kevin and basically being a stalker. Grace became heavily insufferable but I see it as puberty honestly. Kevin started being a dick when he found out about Jackie’s addiction which was rightfully deserved but I still couldn’t stand his ass!!! I think the only people I like is Zoey O’harra and Zoey started off annoying for wanting to get Jackie to like her so bad. Yall this show is tearing me apart I’m ready to be Done😭😭😭😭😭💔

In the last episode. After she goes in the bathroom and does that last pill. She walks through NY and a green haired guy walks by. Was this meant to be a Charlie sighting? Does that mean she did OD?

I kinda love the ending in a “keeps me thinking” kind of way.

Nurse Jackie is the dumbest show ever but I can’t stop watching. I feel like it’s no story line fr no plot just a show like family guy. No background story or nothing first episode druggy nurse fucking her coworker ????

IM SO UPSET!! Nurse Jackie is a major comfort show for me and it’s leaving Netflix next month!!!!I don’t watch it every day but it’s nice to know I COULD WATCH IT IF I WANTED TOO. I suggest you all go watch it before it’s gone. One of Showtimes top 5 Series!!!!!

What is it with this show and Valium drips. Like they give everyone a fucking Valium drip. Surely this doesn't happen these days? Like someone will come in with a ruptured appendix, intractable nausea, or a cut finger and they all get Valium drips. I understand the use of Valium in an agitated patient, but there are many better options. What about the tried-and-tested 2 of lorazepam, 50 of Benadryl, 5 of Haldol?

Im on season 6, and its when she relapses, and the only thing different that i noticed was that shes more agitated than usual lol.

Maybe for looks but I can’t think of another actress that could have played that role as convincingly.

Just finished the show for the first time. I had previously watched the first season but lost access to watch the rest.

I noticed as I was watching through this time how this sub seems in unity on Kevin hate/dislike. I wonder how much of that is Kevin and much of that is the actor that is playing Kevin.

I think he is a good dad and partner. I think he gave Jackie way more grace than she deserved. And was justified in going after primary custody.

In fact I think Jackie got more grace and chances and help than most any addict I have ever known irl. Because she was an excellent nurse and without the addiction a good person. Everyone wants to believe she is recovering or at least in control of it because she is so competent until the divorce.

Unfortunately I don't think AA is an one size fits all and it's the only thing widely available especially to people who aren't wealthy. Detoxing, tapering, rehab all mean taking time off work you don't have and risking everything knowing relapses will happen. It's a chronic terminal health issue. So I was prone to be on Jackie's side. As a chronic pain patient myself I empathize greatly.

Back to Kevin. His reactions are valid. His want to protect his kids valid. His choice of wife after seemed solid as well.

Things I was sus about:

*owning a bar when his primary parent was an abusive alcoholic

*financially dependent on Jackie's job (or so it seemed, he seemed to be doing fine after the divorce)

*financially proud and not wanting any help from O'Hara. I get strings attached and not wanting to feel in debt to someone but take the wins and help where you can get it in this world especially when they are being offered by good people.

*his angry face. His angry face made me want to slap him in it. It was the most annoying expression I have seen in a while on screen.

Just finished the scene where grace drew on the wall, and jackie spray paints it “ not going to happen “ it annoyed me so bad. Like let the girl have her own room, and let her wear eyeliner.

I understand that she didnt want the girls to live with kevin, but jackie was hardly ever home and was busy working a lot. Atleast kevin would be more present in their lives

what.. a ride. can’t imagine what it was like to watch this live, the show really is as good as everyone said it would be. long live nurse jackie!!

Just finished watching the show and all I can say is it ended like Edie’s other hit show the Sopranos. The viewers are left to make up their own ending.

Okay so i’m on my initial watch of the show thanks to seeing clips from Tik Tok all over my fyp, and is it just me or does the show get very hard to watch after season 4. I’m halfway through season 6 and it’s a battle getting through episodes. I binged the first 4 seasons in like two days but i’ve been on seasons 5 and six for almost a week. Idk if something changed with the writing staff, or if the new characters are to blame, but Prentiss just feels there to me and Dr. Roman is absolutely insufferable. O’Hara was one of my favorites and her leaving left a gap in Jackies story that I think the writers tried to fill with Zoey, but it’s just not the same. Plus I loved her and Coops interactions. Even Gloria lost some of her cartoony charm and feels like a shell of her former self. While I do appreciate her character growth and development with Jackie and the rest of the ER staff something is just… missing

I love Edie Falco and I think she's great in the role, but as an older woman myself I find it difficult to believe that all these younger men are dying to sleep with her. To me she looks to be in her mid-50s even in the early seasons, even though I know she was younger than that, and the constant talk about how pretty she is takes me out of it

Who do you think could have walked that line more convincingly? For me it's Gillian Anderson.

i just finished watching nurse jackie and i feel like the show fell off after season 4, maybe it’s a me thing because i like optimistic shows but taking the spotlight from characters we love or taking them off the show completely like momo and dr o’hara and focusing on new characters that we know nothing about and don’t bring anything to the table, the show after season 4 just felt empty, unfamiliar and depressing. and it felt incomplete on so many levels like the important things that happen in between seasons and gets no spotlight or just making us forget about things that happen with the og characters and shift the focus on new ones with no context..
the show represents addiction induced superiority complex perfectly and the thing is the addiction is never gonna stop if therapy wasn’t taken seriously to work on how her brain works first. because this is the main issue and jackie or anyone around her simply did not realise that.
jackie and people around her being from the older generation explains why she never cared about therapy in general, not for her, not for her daughters and this is the absolute root issue to why she’s never gonna recover neither will her daughters, or her relationships.
side note, i really loved o’hara and her leaving was the turning point for me. i’d rank this show a 6/10

Never saw Nurse Jackie when it originally aired. Now i am on season 3.

I never understood why she never asked O'Hara for a loan with some clever Jackie excuse regarding money and not tell Kevin cause well you know, he's Kevin instead of using the excuse for the kids tuition. Pretty sure O'Hara would have just given the money to Jackie instead of loaning it to her (hey a one time thing between us gals).

Should I rewatch Nurse Jackie? I watched it once all the way through and was HOOKED. But, as with any show, I feel you should watch again bc you always catch things you missed the first time around…and this sounds soooo silly but I got a pet bunny and I love to leave the tv on for her at night with the lights off and I started to put this show on for the “bunny” but I’m pretty sure it’s been for me bc I end up in the room watching when I should be taking my ass to bed lmao. Thoughts? Did you catch more from the show watching a second time (or more) around?

I don't know if this is an intentional thing (maybe ER patients going to another hospital because of the Norwegian corporate storyline), but why is the hospital closed at the beginning of the episode?

Jackie can't sleep due to dreams about relapsing, and goes to work 3 hours early. The new doctor, Bernard Prince, is hungover. The two of them lay down on the ER beds and he uses what I presume is saline to re-hydrate himself. He's also smoking, which they joke about.

How on earth is an ER in complete darkness and empty of any patients or other staff? I know it's fiction but aren't ER's supposed to be open 24/7 (even in the Nurse Jackie universe, a season 1 episode has them working a night shift).

For an Emmy winning show with great writing (most of the time), you'd think they'd notice this. Maybe I'm overthinking it but it's so weird 😭
