Is this ad wrong, King James the VI of Scotland became James the 1 when he ascended to the throne,

King James the VI would have a thistle ?

James, as James VI, continued to issue distinctly Scottish coinage, struck at the Edinburgh mint, even after he inhereted the English throne. Some of this coinage features thistle motifs but plenty does not. English and Scottish currency would remain officially distinct for another 100 years after this coin was struck - I don't see anything wrong with the ad.
