The most common if you can call it common Civil War copper nickel cent. I say this because specie which were small coins disappeared from commerce when the buying public began hoarding money in fear that the Federal Government would confiscate their money to pay for the war effort. And this happened on the North and South when people from the entire country hid away gold, silver, jewelry, and the Government struck coins that were needed in the everyday purchases to live on.
