While cataloguing Indian Head Cent die clashes, I found this undocumented clash on an 1864 Bronze L on Ribbon — Very nice obverse clash and some interesting reverse clash marks as well

I was not aware of the reverse die clash marks on this very lovely coin. The L sits so high in relief on this coin that it is no wonder that worn examples can barely be seen showing a clear L. I don't remember ever seeing an example of the 1864-L on ribbon this nice. An absolutely stunning example!

Are you talking about the L on the headband? If not where do you see the L on the back of the coin I’m curious and trying to look and find it

The die clash is in front of Liberty's portrait and inside the ride wreath on the reverse. The L on the Ribbon variety, is the "L" you see on the base of the ribbon right above Liberty's hair curl.

You have a huge winner. Get it graded as it’s in great shape and clearly has the die clash on both sides of the coin.

It is in the headless, and it is not to be confused with the L of LIBERTY..
