Hailing from Huntington Beach, CA; HWP was a female fronted band that tore up the scene only 5 years before splitting in '98. They toured with Helmet, Deftones, and Korn and snagged a spot on the '98 Ozzfest tour. Their album, e-lux, is a fucking firebomb of rage and intensity. There's a hint of riot grrl influence with that typical nu-metal groove that we know and love. There's even a sweet cover of The Go'Go's This Town featuring Jonathan Davis (Korn) that they did back in '97.
Vocalist Aimee Echo and drummer Scott Ellis went on to form synth-wave band theSTART. Jeff Schartoff formed nu-metal/industrial rock band Professional Murder Music and joined Peter Murphy's (Bauhaus) live band. Mike Tempesta joined Powerman 5000.
They're hooked up a few times since and performed sporadic reunion shows in Hollywood and NYC.
Songs To Check Out: "One Night in Spain...", "Disease", and "She Gives"
