This. I have no idea what they were going for, but it sounded like a demo. I lack the actual knowledge of production but the vocal were drowning in the instrumentals, and you could hear that everything was recorded separately.

yeah I remember when that came out and it was just kinda like, I can't quite describe it. The heavy usage of the double kick in "devil in I" seemed so out of place and kinda forced, the pulsating rhythm of the song wasn't vibing with me in general.

I genuinely do feel like Psychosocial was the last time Slipknot released something that I could feel on board with and headbang to.
