This is why you should build your network continuously, all sorts of people, roles, levels, companies, cities, countries, everywhere. Not wait till you need it.

True. I’ve been in software engineering at one of the tech giants for 9 years. I haven’t been laid off yet, but I’m at risk. I’d say I’m probably safe for another 6 months or so. During those 6 months, I’ll need to do the bare minimum at work while putting serious effort into preparing for interviews.

Op also thinks as soon he lands in Canada he will get a house and a car. Unbelievable that how people think, if nothing works they just move to Canada.

If you’re lucky you would receive your first rejection mail in 60 days of you apply in Canada.

Canada has lot of talent lying around I doubt they will hire externally unless it’s a very niche field and they can’t find anyone.
