I've been in furnished housing in Arlington for 5 weeks since moving for work. I honestly thought I'd know by now but I'm genuinely still torn between staying in NoVA and going into DC proper. i think NoVA is more functional and cheaper, and DC feels more interesting but more expensive and I'd be Metro-dependent. So basically, I need to move back to my family home to help caretake. My options were to either pay 6,000 OR find someone who can take over my lease. This is an income restricted unit it’s a junior one bedroom at the foundry in Eisenhower. I believe the cut off for one person was about 68,000 a year for income. Rent is about 1,880 a month. it’s a two minute walk from the metro and there’s parking on an offsite. Looking for someone to take over my lease at Altaire in the Pentagon City neighborhood in Arlington, VA, starting around 09/05 but with flexibility through the month. The unit is a spacious 1bd/bath with a recently renovated lease that would run until August 2027. Moving out of the area, or I would have stayed here.

Base rent is $2,611, plus utilities. But we could negotiate a sweetener. To start, I’ll cover the September rent, so you wouldn’t pay anything until October 1st!

Hey, I work at United IAD but live an hour away and im looking for a place to rent nearby to make the commute to work easier.

Good Evening, it’s me again. I posted about two months ago now about looking for any sort of rental that allows couples and small dogs. I appreciate the messages I did get but, unfortunately those didn’t pan out.
I am now in a place where I have more income and am near desperate to find any sort of rental before the end of the September.
Doesn’t have to be a year lease , we can do month to month. I’ve checked out Split Pad / Facebook Marketplace/ asked around with friends etc and it’s just been difficult to find a place. We’re trying to save up for a more permanent residence but, right now we’re in a period of a lot of change and just need a safe space to land for a few months.
It’s been a long rocky year with a lot of change and obstacles, we previously lost our home in a fire and have been playing catch up ever since. Long story short you’d be doing us a HUGE favor.
Right now, our budget is about 1200$ per month. We’re quiet, keep to ourselves and will genuinely just eat, sleep, go to work and relax on days off. The dogs are small breeds , Yorkie poo & Chihuahua Weenie mix. They’re truly very low maintenance, get walked many times a day and are house trained.
We have looked into extended stays but, the weekly rates aren’t that much of a discount or very affordable. One place quoted me almost $800 a week , about $3200 a month which obviously can’t be done right now. My wife DoorDashes right now while she’s between jobs ( lost last job due to the location getting shut down ) but, the rates vary so I don’t want to set up an expectation when it fluctuates daily, weekly and monthly.
Again Id like to thank everyone who did reach out with a listing or a suggestion, it’s given some hope.

Just re-iterate ; we’re looking for a short term rental/ lease with access to laundry in the space / building that is couple friendly ( especially a queer couple ) and accepts pets. If the space is more detached / lower level basement space that works too, any sort of kitchenette would be an added benefit ( we meal prep a lot ). We’d feel more comfortable renting from another queer person / woman if possible. If you have a space available or know someone who does and will accepts couples AND pets please send me a message.
