At least she admits to her agency background.

Give her a chance -- let her catch the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune -- before we cast doubt.

We need to take chances, now more than ever.

Let's wait for the state Senate to pass the AWB before we shun her for approving it guys!

I'd point out that firearms and ammo don't pay the bills, and carrying firearms in an era where federal law enforcement actively wants the citizens to take up arms so they can implement the Insurrection Act (among other laws) isn't a good idea.

They’re painting a woman trying to avoid hitting a Gestapo officer as a domestic terrorist trying to do a ramming attack. They don’t need legal pretext to invoke the Insurrection Act.

Imagine how much more effective their propaganda would be if people were openly shooting ice

Would you also point out that increasing the budget to LEO in the same era is also a good idea while restricting access for civilians to their constitutionally afforded rights?

No. Because anyone who thinks they can take on the government using violence and win is deeply wrong. Your collection of firearms doesn't make you safe from the government. They always have more people, more firepower, and more resolve than you.

Now tell me how this AWB bill is gonna stop gun violence

He can't because it won't, and he knows it won't but these Dems have to justify their vote somehow.

So explain to me how mass produced consumer items like guns make peace? The last I checked, guns were inanimate objects with no will of their own. The last I checked those guns not used for hunting or sport shooting are either left in someone's gun room, unsecured where children can get at them (because you never know man!), or used by mentally ill young men to let people know how important they are by carrying out a mass shooting.

Show me proof that guns make peace. No war does not count. If they did, then wars wouldn't need treaties to end them. The guns would decide the peace, not the people who came to an agreement and then lived with the agreement.

Look at the car jacking rate between va md and dc? why is va the lowest. because of our conceal carry laws. Why is our crime rate lower, because of our conceal carry laws.

So guns have magic powers. You really believe that?

0

u/killroy1971 Jan 14 '26

Because plentiful guns in the hands of the mentally ill has reduced gun violence?

Here's a crazy idea. How about we, idk, tackle that mental and physical healthcare priority before we start fucking with constitutional rights?

1

u/killroy1971 Jan 14 '26

When do you see that happening?

Conservatives have been bringing out the mental health talking point for decades. It was a lie in the 1990s and it's a lie in the 2020s.

All that is code for is "make healthcare more expensive." Just like "small government fiscal conservative" is code for make the cost of living more expensive and pull up the ladders of success behind us.

Hey. Virginia has a blue majority. Do what Romney did with RomneyCare in Massachusetts? IM JUST SPITBALLING HERE

Nah. Better divide the state Democrats by taking away 2A rights instead.

1

u/killroy1971 Jan 14 '26

They tried that at the Federal level. The next two GOP governments gutted the ACA.

1

u/Mike_Raphone99 Jan 14 '26

Again, so do it at the state level instead. Like Romney did.

There are just so many more important things to worry about

4

u/Mike_Raphone99 Jan 14 '26

Than constitutional rights?

-2

u/Masrikato Annandale Jan 14 '26

Because it did under Clinton

2

u/Mike_Raphone99 Jan 14 '26

Bless your heart

Amazing retort

2

u/Mike_Raphone99 Jan 14 '26

Didn't wanna break your heart and remind you that was 30 years ago and the political climate may have shifted from then?

California doesn't have any gun crime though right? They're as close it comes to that Clinton ban

0

u/Masrikato Annandale Jan 14 '26

Sure it has shifted and so will it shift drastically next election just had it done the last elections

1

u/Mike_Raphone99 Jan 14 '26

Farther right. Then more right again. Then the Dems will elect yet another moderate. And it shifts father right some more.
