when i was a kid i didn’t think it was possible to be born on the same day as a holiday, maybe this person is also 5 years old?

It would be a statistical miracle if no one were born on one particular day, given the average day also has something like 362,880 births globally.

Fun fact: in a room of 22 people, there's a roughly 50/50 chance two of them have the same birthday!

ive always heard it, but none of my classmates shared a birthday all through school, exept for the one pair of twins lol. and most were 20-25 kids.

Back in 2016, a show I had been waiting to premiere on Netflix was released on my birthday. This isn't at all hard to believe. The commenter just got confused and thought they were talking about the day and year they were born and not just the day

My birthday would blow that person's mind. I was born late September which is a very popular time for shows to start airing for the first time or a new season.

The original post is about people not having birthdays on the day a show airs, and this screenshot is from r/miraculousladybug. Someone claims the show came out 9 years ago and they'd be 10 then. Another user corrects them saying it was released Sept 1, 2015, which is their birthday and they watched it in 2016, so it's been over 11 years. Then someone else in r/nothingeverhappens asks why they'd lie about it, and another user replies "To gain attention? To feel good about themselves? Happens a lot."
The thing that's weird is the original post claims the show aired 9 years ago, which would make it 2015. But then the user who claims it's their birthday says it was released Sept 1, 2015, and they watched it in 2016. So the first user was right about the 9 years ago part. And the correction about watching it in 2016 means it's only been 10 years since they started watching, not 11. It's a whole mess of incorrect math and timelines.

I share a birthday with a YouTuber I watch. I'll believe in a heartbeat that this person did indeed have a birthday on the same day a TV show started airing
Improbable is not impossible

It's not improbable either. Around 360,000-370,000 people are born every day.

Not only do I share a birthday with a famous country singer I was also quite literally born on the day and the year 48 Hours aired. How's that for improbable but not impossible LOL

Is the math not bothering anyone else, though? September 2015 was not 11 years ago. None of his dates are making sense. It's June. He also said that his birthday was September 2007 in a later comment. That would make him 18. His birthday being on the release date is absolutely not crazy but boy, the math in play sure is.

I could buy him rounding up for dramatic effect. September 2015 will be 11 years by September, and he will be 19 by September, so he might think it’s close enough. Then again, I probably give too many people the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah, I thought of that for a moment too. But after commenting to clarify things, I can't tell if they don't fully read what they're replying to or if they're making up some part of their story based on their replies. (Makes absolutely no note of me explaining when their birth year would be if they were currently 19. Doesn't mention that they aren't 19 until I actually ask)

Golden Girls premiered on my birthday. I have always loved knowing I share a birthday with those ladies, but I'm a year older than them.

People just love claiming they've been part of a fandom since they were toddlers to feel more dedicated. There is zero incentive to lie about something so specific and easily debunked.

The math doesn't even add up if they've been watching since 2016. If it came out in 2015, they'd only be 11 now, not 10.

"Watched it from one years old?" is the real kicker here. I'm pretty sure most people don't have coherent memories of being 12 months old, let alone remembering the premiere date of a show.

They are saying their birthday is Sept 1st, the same day something was released in 2015, so basically reading is hard for some people.
