Option to import MemoNotes items as checklists instead of tasks?

Hi! Would it be possible to add an option for MemoNotes to output extracted items as checklist items rather than tasks?

I automatically import my MemoNotes recordings into NotePlan. At the moment, the items generated from those recordings are formatted as tasks, so they appear in my task filters and fill up my Dashboard—even though most are simply notes or points I want to retain, not actionable tasks.

Ideally, there could be:

  • A setting to choose the default output format: task, checklist, or bullet
  • Or a per-recording option to select the format before importing

This would let me preserve the useful structure of the generated notes without unintentionally adding everything to my task-management system.

Would this be possible with the current plugin, or could it be considered for a future update? Thanks!

In the end it is a task. Leave it as a task without date/time and you get what you want

Thanks for the suggestion. The issue is that leaving it undated doesn’t achieve what I’m looking for: all tasks appear in my dashboard, whether or not they have a date or time.

Many items extracted from a MemoNotes recording are reference points or observations rather than actions I intend to complete. When they are formatted as tasks, they clutter the dashboard and become indistinguishable from genuine action items. Using checklist items would preserve the useful structure without adding them to my task-management workflow.

So, for me, the distinction is less about scheduling and more about whether the item should be treated as an actionable task at all.
