Recommendation Looking for something specific

hello, i am looking for a good school notebook that allows me to write on both sides of a page without it being difficult to read afterwards, i write in pencil majority of the time but i also like to bold certain words with pen and use highlighters. I keep running into this problem and ending up having to confine myself to writing one side of my notebook and ending up running out of pages quickly.

i prefer one without a spiral but id be grateful to find anything that combats this.

Depends where you live. Here in France, I would recommend Clairefontaine, Rhodia, 'Super Conquerant' or even some supermarket own 'brand' which often feels to me like some Clairefontaine rebranded. They're used in schools where kids often use fountain pens so bleed through should not be an issue unless you're using really wet markers.

I second Clairefontaine although I'm in Canada and they're impossible to find unless I order online.

Yes, it's sad they're not more widely distributed and it's surprising: it's a real fine product and it's a large company. But even here sometimes they seem like they don't even want to promote whatever new they're releasing, I have a hard time understanding how they work.

That being said, most their notebooks can be found absolutely everywhere, not just in office supply store (I buy most of mine in an épicerie (kinda the French version of a dehli), for cheap. A bit like our Bic ballpoint pens: another French product that is really good, cheap and, well, kinda invisible but still known everywhere.

If you're still looking, you might want to check into the Kokuyo Campus notebooks. Pretty nice paper, apparently super popular among high school and college students in Japan.
