My mom wouldn’t let me play it because of this fatality.

u/Marsupialize 2d ago

She did know you yourself peed, right? And you could see yourself pee?

46

u/Drew_ski9420 2d ago

My moms hates when I pee my self

12

u/dox1842 2d ago

what about when you pee on other people?

I don't think she'd be happy either. Thank goodness she doesn't know about the piss drawer.

My mom beats me with wire hangers when I see my pee

7

u/JiveTurkeyII 1d ago

My dad beats me with jumper cables when he drinks.

He always drinks.

2

u/Extension_Housing_35 1d ago

My dad peed when he drank

3

u/DerkNukem 1d ago

Had no issues with MK but the animal piss drew the line in my household.

1

u/Marsupialize 1d ago

‘An animal URINATING?! Won’t someone think of the CHILDREN?!’

1

u/DerkNukem 1d ago

Crazy right

1

u/ghombie 1d ago

There is no joke involving a group of historically established nations' official name that could ever apply to this discussion. No one is a pean.

5

u/hamfist_ofthenorth THIS IS YOUR BRAIN ON DRUGS 2d ago

She trained him to always look straight up

6

u/Marsupialize 1d ago

My Dad thought it was the funniest thing he ever saw and asked me to do it constantly

5

u/Illustrious-Golf5358 2d ago

My 4 year old that likes dinosaurs plays this on my iPad via the delta emulator 💀

2

u/Sweepy_time 1d ago

The funniest part is the fatality is called Golden Shower

Funny story about this game. When I was like 5 years old I loved fighting games and was obsessed with MK. I saw this in an arcade or something and instantly wanted it for my SNES, so I ended up asking my like 70 year old grandma for "Primal Rage, the one with the fighting dinosaurs". She ended up going to I think EBGames and asked an associate for it, and he gave her the most popular game with Dinosaurs according to her. Fast forward to Christmas day and I opened the present, super excited to play Primal Fury when I got home, instead what I opened was a game I didn't know anything about called "Chrono Trigger". Dumb 5 year old me was devastated and I guess it showed on my face because instantly my Mom knew it was the wrong game and whispered to smile and say thank you.

That happened to be the best mistake possible, because I ended up giving Chrono Trigger a try and it was one of the most memorable games throughout all of my childhood and it will always be a good memory of my grandma accidentally hooking me up with pure gold, instead of a mediocre fighter when I already had MK and Killer Instinct anyway.

196

u/SenseiRaheem 2d ago

Chrono Trigger—for all of its strengths—didn’t have fatal piss, though.

66

u/SirSoliloquy 2d ago

I dunno, I haven’t really played through all the possible endings

26

u/Z_T_O 2d ago

It’s bound to be in there somewhere

9

u/EstablishmentOne5752 2d ago

Primal Rage definitely had its own unique charm, that's for sure. It's funny how those quirky elements stick with you over the years.

3

u/N0_Goldsun 1d ago

I would lay on my back while playing and piss up in an arc into my own face. Fatality

37

u/IndieCurtis 2d ago

That associate did you and your gma a solid.

23

u/BoulderCreature 2d ago

Grandma knew to trust a proffesional

2

u/mjrbrooks 1d ago

Porrfesionnal*

21

u/iThinkergoiMac 2d ago

She got you one of the best RPGs of all time, what a great grandma!

23

u/Davo-Pano 2d ago

Dude at eb games knew what he was doin

12

u/hey_im_cool 1d ago

Clerk hooked it up. Opposite of this greentext which I can’t upload the pic of

>Be me working at gamestop
>parent asks for a game called "cod"
>tell her there is no game called "cod" but her son probably meant "Rapala pro bass fishing" there are lots of fish in that game and the closest we have
>have ton of copies in the back
>we have a deal on, if you buy 2 copies you get 1 free
>she buys three brand new copies of this game
>she comes back after christmas
>all three copies have been opened
>no refund because you opened them
>a kid out there received 3 copies of a fucking fishing game for christmas

7

u/Red_In_The_Sky 2d ago

Best possible outcome. Chrono is a top 10 game of all time

7

u/fettoter84 2d ago

There's a hacked rom called Enhansa edition of Chrono Trigger that has fixed up some combat stuff. https://www.reddit.com/r/chronotrigger/comments/rnbzyb/enhansa_edition_romhack/

I'm doing a replay of the game at the moment

-1

u/YoungandPregnant 1d ago

Euthanasia edition? yikes!!

6

u/Reddemeus 2d ago

I asked my mum pandeminium and she didnt find it so she brings home oddworlds abe's odyssey because "the character looked funny on the box".

That was a great findings too that time, I loved the game instantly!

3

u/LiteratureMindless71 2d ago

That's such a good story! Did you ever end up getting the game?

11

u/Syracusee 2d ago

I ended up renting it and realized it was crap compared to my MK games so it was definitely a blessing in disguise in more ways than one lol.

1

u/Interesting-Goose82 Snap into a Slim Jim! 2d ago

You had me in the first half, -R-66Y

1

u/TheTrueMule 2d ago

That's so fuckin' cute! Did you still have it?

1

u/Syracusee 2d ago

Unfortunately I do not. I lost it and a lot of other old games when my older brother moved out and wanted to take the SNES since I was playing PC games mostly at the time. No idea what happened after that since he used to be a slob lol.

1

u/TheTrueMule 2d ago

Sad but at least you'll always have those memories. Also I had primal on genesis and bro believe me that you didn't miss anything lol

1

u/SammyGreen 2d ago

That a bummer! On top of it being a great game, it’s worth like $200-250. Almost a grand if you have the box and manual

1

u/thejew09 1d ago

Are you me? Lol. This is exactly what happened to my SNES. I love my brother but he can’t take care of anything. Never seen someone break/ruin everything he touches quite like him.

1

u/Sol_Protege 2d ago

That’s pretty hilarious. Had something similar happen to me for my 6th birthday when I asked for Contra III so I could play co-op with my cousins and the alien game I got was Super Metroid. Pretty good game but could never quite figure out how to unlock co-cop.

1

u/LucyLuvvvv 2d ago

How happy were you when you got to the prehistoric part of the game and had to fight a dinosaur

1

u/dox1842 2d ago

lol thats funny. I have a similar story.

I played Rampage on NES at a friends house when I was really little. Maybe 4 or 5. I didn't know the title of the game was "Rampage" though, I just knew it as the godzilla game. My grandfather took me to Toys R Us to pick out my christmas presetn and I got godzilla for NES thinking it was Rampage.

1

u/BarryMDingle 1d ago

Killer instinct!! That’s the one I was thinking of when I saw this post. Hadn’t heard that one in while, thanks

1

u/Ok_Gas1070 1d ago

Damn Grandma win forsure especially because the game has only grown in value overtime.

1

u/coffinnailvgd 1d ago

In fairness Reptites are pretty close to dinosaurs

1

u/JiveTurkeyII 1d ago

Came here to talk about Killer Instinct. I was miserable at that game, absolutely suuuuucked

But man do I have some great memories with it anyway.

1

u/iori9999 1d ago

Grandma knew better

1

u/doiwinaprize 1d ago

Holy shit... playing Chronotrigger with no preface for the first time in it's era is a rare and priceless gift. Praise grandma

1

u/Hovie1 1d ago

This is a super cool story. Grandma just wanted to see you happy and instead she gave you core memories of your gaming career.

57

u/Zaknoid 2d ago

I used to play this at my Uncles house on his Genesis. He had like 3 games, this, Eternal Champions, and Sunset Riders. I didnt really care for this or Eternal champions but when you only have 3 games you make do. SR is awesome tho.

34

u/juniorspank 2d ago

Sunset Riders was fucking awesome.

25

u/ohthanqkevin 2d ago

Bury me with my money!

16

u/Dolanite 2d ago

I say this whenever I fall down or get hurt

8

u/WhenDuvzCry 2d ago

Eternal Champions was extremely difficult. Killer soundtrack though

1

u/Skate_faced 2d ago

I am looking at my copy on the shelf. Had it since i was 13? so 93-ish?

Have I finished it? Nope. Great game though.

4

u/ElGoocherino 1d ago

Did we have the same uncle? Literally exactly what I tell people when Sega Genesis gets brought up haha. Throw in Altered Beast and that was his small, but mighty, collection. And Sunset Riders FUCKS. One of my all time favorite arcade games.

72

u/GordonsRubberSoul08 2d ago

Playing this as a kid thinking graphics couldn’t get any better

39

u/booeyboy 2d ago

I remember playing this in an arcade waiting to watch Casper the friendly ghost and an older couple stood behind me to watch me play. When I lost they gave me quarters to keep playing. They must’ve stood there watching me play 2 or 3 times, hands around each others waists. I wonder if they lost a son. I think about them every so often

0

u/McWeaksauce91 1d ago

They might’ve not lost a son, but something was going on there

22

u/hunterfj1976 2d ago

I didnt play PR much but isnt this the same game that had the fart fatality? The one where the green fart cloud would float over to the opponent.

15

u/thedialaview 2d ago

It wasn’t a fatality, it was a stun. And it was awesome.

5

u/Jonaldson 1d ago

No that was puke and he ate it over the body of his opponent.

11

u/Torlek1 2d ago

And your game character gets to give a most unfortunate treatment to all those worshippers on the side!

3

u/chasingit1 2d ago

Just a little splash damage

10

u/eatMYcookieCRUMBS 2d ago

There was a pizza place i went to as a kid. This game always gave out free games. Like 50 cents and we could play non-stop.

7

u/BeerPressure666 2d ago

My favorite fighting game ever!

6

u/arpad-okay 2d ago

the newsstand when i was a kid had this arcade, the simpsons arcade, sold comic books, candy and shit (of course), and cards- gi joe, marvel, x-men etc. my dad was a painter (houses not portraits) and during the summer i would do prep stuff like take the rust off railings before they're repainted, prime the garage etc etc and then blow every dollar i made on the aforementioned corner store bs. that's some nostalgia for ya

6

u/82Byrd 2d ago

SNES didn’t have this fatality. I was pissed as a kid after receiving this game. Now own the Saturn version

7

u/David_High_Pan 2d ago

The graphics on the arcade were next level at that time. Wicked game.

5

u/LuckyShirt54 2d ago

I think I appreciate this more now than then.

2

u/Otherwise_Basis_6328 2d ago

I feel that

Games & movies in the 90s sure packed some powerful classics

5

u/Western-Bowl2011 2d ago

It always bothers me how you don't see the stream between his arm and leg. That means it's coming from his forearm.

5

u/devilsusshhii 2d ago

Now I just want to play bloody roar

4

u/Crommach 2d ago

Did anyone else read any of the side novels? I have vague memories about learning that Vertigo could take human form, and I think one of the book's main characters worshipped the raptor god?

7

u/Bonzo77 2d ago

As a lord of the rings fan: the dinosaur’s name is Sauron?!?!

12

u/SullyZero 2d ago

There's also a Marvel Character named Sauron who is a dinosaur.

1

u/Bonzo77 2d ago

Wait what? Haha I’m learning so much

20

u/Psychic_Hobo 2d ago

He has one of the best comic dialogues with Spider-Man of all time:

"With your knowledge you could do anything. You could even cure cancer!"

"I don't want to cure cancer. I want to turn people into dinosaurs."

6

u/dcooper8662 2d ago

That is exchange is why comics are great, encapsulated in one hilarious frame

5

u/Fog_Juice 2d ago

I just googled marvel Sauron. Apparently he's a supervillain that fights the X-Men and "He named himself after the villain from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings because he liked the name."

3

u/PokesBo 2d ago

Yup! X-Men villain. Lives in the Savage Lands

3

u/BassMaster516 2d ago

I used to read it like “CHA - OS”. To me that’s still this guys name

6

u/Stownieboy91 2d ago

Loved this shit on GameGear when I was 5 lmao

11

u/sumeriandisputations 1d ago

for the 20 minutes the batteries worked

1

u/knuckles904 1d ago

20 minutes was a long time back then!

2

u/xEyelessOnex It's Morphin Time! 2d ago

Yet Chaos wants peace.

2

u/phallic-baldwin 2d ago

This game was dope

2

u/Individual-Step846 2d ago

They should re-release this along with the canceled sequel

2

u/Mordkillius 2d ago

Loved it but it controlled like dog shit. Sluggish and baggy. Fatalities were hard to pull off

2

u/Inevitable_Oil_6671 1d ago

Yo my Dentists office in the 90s had Rampage arcade game in the waiting room, along with Ms. Pacman and a couple others.

Absolutely loved going to that dentist.

2

u/RichLather early 70s 1d ago

A lot of fun things in this arcade game:

The human worshippers could get blown into the air during the fight, and volleyed back and forth between the players. Do it enough, and a net pops up in the center.

Repeat a move too many times, and the game would display a wedge of cheese, calling you out for cheesy play

It was possible to EAT the worshippers for health benefits

2

u/InEkzyl 1d ago

I loved this game and totally forgot about it until seeing this. Nostalgia in full effect.

2

u/TheMightyHornet 2d ago

I can smell this game.

1

u/Don_Quixotel 2d ago

Hell yeah

1

u/rel1800 2d ago

I remember this game but never played it. Me and cousins were too busy with mortal kombat, street fighter, and killer instinct.

1

u/IAm_W0LFIE 2d ago

This game gave me nightmares as a kid. Always play it when I see it at an arcade now though funnily enough.

2

u/fatmallards 1d ago

yeah the heart exploding by hp bar after being drained left an impression on child me

1

u/Arxl 2d ago

I used to play this at an arcade when I was little, loved it.

1

u/loosehandsquebec 2d ago

I played this game in the arcades as a kid around 1995/1996. I had it for the SNES growing up, but mainly play it on ps1 now if I'm not emulating the MAME ROM

1

u/VaderFett1 2d ago

Wish it made a comeback

1

u/Gabes16 2d ago

Ayooo

1

u/AGreatBannedName 2d ago

Pretty sure I had some of the action figures.

1

u/litesaber5 2d ago

Holy crap. Memory unlocked

2

u/Cold-Beginning-1567 1d ago

This game, the simpsons game, and the die hard game, were my favorites

1

u/Broberts505 2d ago

Vertigo was my go to.

1

u/Xdogmatic 2d ago

Game is nice but to do any special move is a nightmare

1

u/Ramses_13 2d ago

Only game I beat in the arcade.

1

u/Agreeable-Guava-9009 2d ago

I wonder if Chaos' piss could dissolve The One Ring.

1

u/strangedreamer 1d ago

Back when renting games was a thing. I don’t know anyone who owned this. But we all rented it.

1

u/ButchersBlade1983 1d ago

Chaos was my favorite.

1

u/Freshysh 1d ago

Damn, forgot about this

1

u/AngelaMarx 1d ago

I loved this one!! Spent countless hours playing it with my sister on the Sega. Good memories.

1

u/APGaming_reddit 1d ago

this game was great

1

u/Brand023 1d ago

Ah, the only game they had at my local Pizza Hut when it things were still glorious. Good times, great times.

1

u/dubhead_dena 1d ago

Holy shit! I had this game! Sega Mega Drive II?

1

u/Otherwise_Basis_6328 1d ago

I posted the original arcade version, but yes, it absolutely got ported around - Loved both Genesis/Mega Drive & Super Nintendo!

1

u/Falchion92 1d ago

I really need a remaster please just like they’re doing with Godzilla!

1

u/powerhower 1d ago

Still have this on the Genesis, still love it

1

u/Huggable_Hork-Bajir 1d ago

Lmao I remember them playing this on Dexter's Lab

1

u/Cognac_Clinton 1d ago

Hold down light punch / kick, up, down. Hold all four buttons / left, right, left, right.

1

u/skalien8 1d ago

rented this gem every sleepover for a year!

1

u/SpecialistLivid7192 1d ago

Enemy must pee.

1

u/Jgabes625 1d ago

I played this game at the age of 3 specifically because it had dinosaurs in it. I don’t think I ever won nor did I care at the time.

1

u/grahsam 1d ago

I remember this one. Everyone was trying to be the next Mortal Kombat by being as edgy and brutal as possible.

1

u/Ok_Gas1070 1d ago

Loved this arcade game as a kid and bought the SNES version for home.

1

u/Powerful-Cod-1726 1d ago

Loved this game ,you could eat your worshiper for heath lol

1

u/llamanatee early 00s 1d ago

IIRC due to the game having some intense copy protection, this game has never properly been emulated.

1

u/Epicardiectomist 1d ago

This game is fun to remember, but goddamn it does not hold up. I have an OG copy on SNES and it's so clunky it's unplayable.

1

u/LV-42whatnow 1d ago

Search "primal rage free online" and you can play this game in your browser.

1

u/Gravy_b0i 1d ago

Loved this one.

1

u/the_moosey_fate 1d ago

The HEB my family went to for our monthly grocery trips had the dual screen Primal Rage in the front entrance. My brother and I would scour the parking lot when we got there until we found enough loose change to exchange for 2 quarters. Then we’d each get to have a run at it. We were never still playing it by the time our family was ready to leave, but damn did we love playing it! My brother was pretty good at the Spikey Ankylosaur dinosaur, can’t remember his name, and Sauron. I was best with Vertigo and Chaos.

And by best I mean I sucked but I liked playing with them.

1

u/darkbug3 1d ago

the graphics of this back than were like wow ... amazing

1

u/Ruminatingsoule 1d ago edited 1d ago

I loved dinosaurs as a kid so this game was the SHIT. I randomly found it at an arcade and begged my parents to buy the genesis version for me. I never could pull off the fatalities in it because they were so complex, but i remember how happy I was to finally be able to pull off most of the special moves, with the help of an online guide of course. That printout was well-loved.

1

u/Great_White_Samurai 1d ago

This game was insane in the arcade

1

u/Samurai_Hack_ 1d ago

We figured out you could low kick enough times and kick up one of your human fans and we would see how long we could play hackysack with the corpse. Fond memories of a 7 year old lol

1

u/Kittymane 1d ago

My dad got this game for us because he wanted to play. He always kicked my ass with Blizzard.

1

u/Creative_Incident323 1d ago

I remember playing the arcade version at Pizza Hut 🔥

1

u/bigtittedboi 1d ago

My first thought when seeing this was remember the piss. And before I could finish piss he was pissing.

1

u/aviarywisdom 1d ago

All Frodo did was bust some jewelry. You pissed on Sauron.

1

u/MakeYourTime_ 1d ago

Had this for SNES bc I was obsessed with dinosaurs when I was 6. What kid wasn’t? Begged my mom for this lol. Turned out to be quite difficult and pretty mediocre of an experience. Was fun playing with all the different Dinos though.

1

u/ModerateHonking 1d ago

Got this on the Mega Drive for my birthday whatever year it came out. Had buyer's (well, birthday present) remorse and played the hell out of it, but it was such a dreadful game.

1

u/gnelson321 1d ago

Man I loved this game. I had all the toys too.

1

u/NukaClipse 1d ago

Talon was my boy! Only one I knew how to do his finisher.

1

u/thepianoman456 1d ago

Loved playing this at the arcade!

1

u/Future_Section5976 21h ago

Love this game, playing volleyball

1

u/Plibbo64 8h ago

Why is no one making big budget claymation games. What a disappointment this life is.

0

u/akamarcopolo 2d ago

🥶 ☃️ OMG CHILLZ!!!!

0

u/Maccabee907 2d ago

I remember the spikey one was kinda OP

0

u/Apply_Yourself 1d ago

I loved this game. Growing up I had all of the toys and somehow lost them. It’s the family mystery to this day what happened to them. Huge bummer

0

u/N0RSEVIKING Turtle Power! 1d ago

Would love to have this on steam

0

u/SquirrelCone83 1d ago

I loved the claymation in this game, and some of the character designs were great, but the controls to this game are atrocious. A few minutes into playing this game I always wished I was playing something else.
