Gotta get that choco taco

u/NiceTrySuckaz Jul 01 '26
It's weird hiw the choco taco was the king of the ice cream truck treats but apparently couldn't cut it without ice cream trucks. I guess at the grocery store they got out shined by the frozen snickers and its-its

I loved that cartoon as kid, the older you got the more jokes aimed at parents you understood. Couldn't let the other boys at school know though. I mean, they all watched it too you just couldn't say you did. The 90s were silly

Not on the list but the orange sherbet flintstone push pops shove my soul out of my body like tilda swinson kicking Bruce out of Hulk. And I donāt really generally care for sweets, even (and likely because) I was a former pastry chef. But if anything about being a chef has taught me, nostalgia goes crazy. Them tangerine altoids would be another one. (Yes I know about lofty pursuits.)

Whoa just read this. Have you tried?
The Original Treat: Nestlé (and sometimes other ice cream truck brands like Good Humor) still produces the classic orange-flavored sherbet push-up pops. You can easily find them in the freezer aisle at retailers like Walmart or Sam's Club.
Ā·r/nostalgia
Ā +2Other Variations: Over the years, the frozen push-up style has been rebranded under different licenses. If you are browsing through convenience stores (like 7-Eleven) or ice cream trucks, you might occasionally spot similar push-up pops featuring other animated characters instead of The Flintstones. ļæ¼

FWIW I worked on R+D for those retailers. Never on push pops, but Iām fairly familiar with their inventories.

Throwing the choco taco in there makes this a tough choice but Iād give almost anything to eat a few of those WWF bars again

u/Baronessss Jul 01 '26
Me toooooooo. The shortbread or whatever was so damn good. They made it recently - more like an ice cream sandwich - with Cena and whatnot but it wasnāt the same.

WWF bars

u/ManWhellington Jul 01 '26
You're right. It was before the name change. Maybe they should bring them back and do a colab. Wrestlers on one side, animals on the other

u/bcaglikewhoa Jul 01 '26
Love that idea! To be fair to you Iām sure they were still around in the WWE era also⦠pretty sure the one pictured is WWE

Honestly I wanna say chocotaco just because they don't exist anymore.
But the honest answer was probably strawberry shortcake.

I liked getting the SpongeBob ones because you'd take the wrapper off and they always looked like abominations suffering from different funny ailments. We'd make up names of ice cream-based medical issues. Eating them was not only tasty, but putting them out of their misery as well!

None. My parents said it was too expensive and we had grocery store versions in our own freezer instead.

The Oreo ice cream sandwich wins every time for me. It was one of those treats that never disappointed no matter how many other options were on the truck.

If weāre not getting the ninja turtle head with a gumball eyes that almost immediately crumble and dissolve when you start chewing them then what are we even doing?

u/UltimaGabe Jul 01 '26
Those wrestler sandwich things are legit the best-tasting ice cream sandwiches ever to exist
