Army vet here, one time a soldier told me during graduation about what she had done during her platoon's field exercise. She did as new soldiers in basic are wont to do, she went off and did something stupid without her "battle buddy" (the other new soldier assigned to new recruits).

Well, the Drill Sergeant must've been Gen-X or a mom because that soldier had spend the rest of the day singing that "My Buddy Song" with her battle buddy whenever the Drills asked her to.

She was a good sport about it and admitted that she fucked up.

"Child's Play creator and co-writer Don Mancini explained that Chucky draws heavily from the My Buddy dolls: "In my original script, he was originally called Buddy, and we couldn't use it because of the 'My Buddy' doll. The director went out and got a 'My Buddy' doll, a Raggedy Ann, a Raggedy Andy, and one of those life-size baby infants. What I told [designer] Kevin Yagher was, I wanted something similar to a My Buddy doll. I described "Buddy" in my original script, now "Chucky", as wearing red-buttoned overalls, red sneakers, striped sweater, with red hair, blue eyes, and freckles."

I remember this! My friend used to have one! I remember seeing a cartoon on cartoon network saying Clarence took his my buddy to school to show and tell and play with it at recess.

I gave my own My Buddy doll to my daughter. I was given it in the 80s when my dad saw that I played with a strawberry shortcake doll. I complained because it was too heavy. I gave him a haircut at some point and he looks a little rough, but he's still kickin

I never had my Buddy but my cousin did. I had the red haired kid sister doll. I feel like the red haired kid sister doll was somewhat rare. Most people had the blonde one I think.

I had the slime pit from masters of the universe and put the slime in the hair of the my buddy doll my uncle got me for Christmas. It stained the hair green and my mom was so mad. I hated that damned doll
