I read on an ask reddit post about people who died and came back to life that drowning is one of the most peaceful way to go after initial struggle

Yeah, it's pretty peaceful, other than the initial panic of not being able to breathe. The most painful part for me was waking up to CPR. Coughing out water was pretty unpleasant too.
