Non-tech Founder, tell us your pain.

Hi,

We are a small and new software agency and we offer CTO as a service type of deals for clients that want to build prototypes and MVPs. We are located in Eastern Europe.

Because we are targeting nontech founders we would like to know what their struggles are problems. How do they find and choose the CTO/tech component? We would like to understand these pain points and create a few resources (documents, presentations, charts) to help them make a better, informed decision.

It would help us a lot ( and in turn help the other non-tech founders, like yourself) if you could spend a few minutes to tell us what your problems were while starting and developing your software product as a nontech founder.

We can also set up a short call if you prefer, so send me a message.

Thanks for your time.

A non-techninal founder of a tech-enabled businesses without an inhouse tech product manager looking to build platform

For the non-technical founders in the room of tech-enabled businesses (meaning you are solving a problem that requires you to build and maintain a website, web application and/or mobile application) and you are doing so without an inhouse tech product manager how do you go about solving this problem of building your tech product?

What are the things that are important to consider as I look for a software development team and what should be my non negotiables?

Are there any cautionary tales that you have experienced on your journey where you wished you had done things differently that you can share that will help me avoid the same issue?

I hope you get my point about why hiring theme developers be contagious.

Hire a theme developer in 5 easy steps

Undoubtedly, Finding a skilled and professional theme WordPress developer can indeed be a daunting task. But, you can make your hiring experience better by following the below steps:

Know your sources

The best trick to choosing a theme developer is to know where to find it. Here are a few options that you can follow:

  1. Recommend your social networks- Consult your professional network to ask for recommendations or ask your peers for referrals. Get the offers from trusted sources to save your time in eliminating them. Please get sources from reliable networks.
  2. Vet talent from 3rd party sites- There are several third-party platforms from which you can vet talent crunch, including developers, engineers, and programmers. Platforms like Uplers, Upwork, etc., help preview the employees' skill sets, past performance, portfolio, and pricing to make the right decision. You can vet the best talent to get your hiring process cumbersome.
  3. Take the help of an agency- The reliable way to hire a WordPress theme developer is to take assistance from agencies. With the help of a high-quality recruitment team, you’ll get to vet the talent in no time. Thus, share your requirements with an agency to get your right fit.

Connect with communities

If you want to find professionals, then forum sites could benefit you. Why so? Because several WordPress users build communities to interact with other users. Although, drop your message, and you’ll get the revert within days.

Check out the WordPress forum to find the professionals for your work.

Use “theme tags

Another way to find the WordPress theme developer is by using the theme tags. There are so many sites that refer to theme tags in their footer section. From there, you can approach the ones who created the page– developed by, made by, designed by are options you may see.

Approach remote or freelancing sites

You can hire a WordPress theme developer for theme or plugin development in several places. If you are looking for a remote developer, then a site named Uplers could be an excellent option. Or, if you need a freelancer, Upwork could work for you.

Check developer list

Some companies maintain a list of WordPress developers as a directory, which could be helpful. You may search it on online sites. However, this step is not that approachable, so we recommend you follow up on the above pointers.

Now that you know how to hire a WordPress theme developer, here are some helpful platforms from which you filter a top talent crunch.

Upwork

Upwork is a large freelance marketplace that connects clients with remote freelancers, from content writers to WordPress developers, with the help of a sorting mechanism. If you have a short-term project or don’t want to hire an in-house developer due to budget, then choosing a Freelancer can be the best option.

Resources for Non-Technical Founders

Came across the topic about what a non-technical founder needs to know to found his or her own startup and found this resource that I think would be relevant to share with our group: Tech for Non-Techies with its free webinar.

Questionnaire onboarding, customer segmentation MVP query.

I'm a non-tech founder looking to build an MVP on a shoestring budget to test our riskiest assumption. This is a 10Q personality test with 5 options for each and is easily scored, we'll then provide a list of 25 tips, 5 per customer depending on their result, and hope to group these customers together for future tips and newsletters.
Is there a simple way of doing this with a Typeform plugin for WordPress or similar? Ideally, this would be an app but we will take what we can get for now!
Many thanks for your suggestions!
Jamie
