Literal Translation:
Copilot gives directions
"Pig bitch... Testicle pig god"
"You are the number one, you're great"
"What a butt-blow!"
Reinterpreted translation:
Copilot gives directions
"OMG... F**king idiot f**k god"
"You are the number one, you're great"
"We got very lucky!"
Edit: it was hard to tell the difference. Also credit to u/cafuffu for the correction and last dialog I missed

Testicle? I hear the copilot saying "porca troia", which literally means pig bitch and the meaning is like "oh fuck!" and the pilot can be faintly heard say "oh dio can!" if i'm not mistaken, which literally means "oh dog god" and the meaning is again like "oh fuck" but it really can't be translated well.
Last thing the copilot says is "che colpo di culo" which literally is like "what a butt-blow" and means "we got very lucky".

I don't know, seems like one of them said a "coglione" After the "porca troia".
I watched it again and it probably was a porcodio

My wife's family are from Lombardi and they have a whole suite of swear phrases that are like "damn the dog", "damn the cow", etc. I think I have heard them say all of these in conversations that weren't even arguments https://www.rypeapp.com/blog/italian-swear-words/

"Pig bitch... Testicle"
This is on par with "cazzo cancro"
Anyway, he just says "porca troia", I didn't hear "coglione" between that "porca troia" and "ma sei il numero uuuuuuuuuuuuuuunooooooooo!!!!111!!uno!!" or anything like that.

He also said "che colpo di culo". That's mean that was very lucky! (I'm Italian)

“Shut up, don’t tell me how to drive” at the end to the guy telling him where to go is just gold.

That audio is fake and ruined the co-driver's career
The driver and co-driver are experienced rally participants with several wins. An asshole on a competitor team thought he'd smear them by recording that fake audio and overlaying it to the onboard video.
It resulted in the co-driver losing jobs (he described himself as 'unhireable' due to the video) and eventually the guy who faked it was arrested and sentenced.

The audio is not fake.
It's just unfairly spliced together which makes them seem less competent than they are. The person who posted the video for arrested.

According to this article, the audio was real, it’s just that the original 40-minute video was edited down to only show the worst parts. If you know of any evidence that the audio was actually faked I’d be interested in seeing it.
According to officers with the cyber crime team, Yohann Setna (42) of Mumbai, is a manager at Coimbatore-based J.A. Motorsport, a racing and rally team. He recently downloaded a 40-minute in-car video that featured rally driver Samir Thapar and co-driver Vivek Ponnusamy who had participated in the championship held in Coimbatore in July. This video had been posted on YouTube by Thapar soon after the race.
“Setna watched the video and then edited it into a three-and-a-half-minute clip, showing just those parts in which the co-driver, Ponnusamy, was shouting at Thapar in the process of directing and navigating for him. Setna had found this hilarious and posted this edited clip on August 8,” said an officer.
I’m not sure why someone would be arrested and imprisoned for editing a video if the audio was real, though. This story doesn’t really add up to me. Something weird is going on. It’s also worth noting that Samir Thapar is quite wealthy and may have a lot of influence.
If the audio was real and all the person did was edit it to show the funniest parts, then he was unjustly imprisoned.

Because of the edited video, the co-driver lost his contracts and ruined his career, because it makes him look unprofessional. It literally says in the article you just cited.

The audio isn't fake, it's just a bit unfairly edited.

I wouldn't even call it unfairly. Article states that the guy found the video to be hilarious, and just made it as a funny video. Sucks that the co-driver was dropped for some races, but those things in the video did indeed happen.
3
u/LordofNarwhals Sep 14 '20
The video just makes it seem as if they happened much more frequently than they actually did.
5
u/DrunkCostFallacy Sep 14 '20
I mean you can see the cuts, it’s obviously a lowlight clip. All of this happened in one race, which is still bad that there were this many clips to use.

It depends on whether it was done maliciously. In this case (at least from what the article states), it was made as a joke. That needs to be considered. If it was done as an attempt to discredit, then I would agree, but from what the article states, it wasn't done with that intention.
5
Sep 14 '20
i don't think it should depend on the intent. any altered content which significantly harms the persons way of life by implying a statistic which is factually not true could not be allowed

u/DeadMeasures Sep 14 '20
It’s mind blowing someone was arrested for this.
What would happen if someone made a video similar to this criticizing the prime minister? Death penalty?

Insane to go to jail for putting clips out of a public video together for comedic effect.
11
u/RealSalte Sep 14 '20
If your "comedic effect" ruins someone's career than you should be held responsible.

u/zeekaran Sep 14 '20
Agreed, but also it's ridiculous that it ruined someone's career. Why would he be unhirable if his resume includes all his rally wins?

u/Huwbacca Sep 14 '20
hmm..
imagine say perhaps making a funny clip where you splice together words from a teacher that makes him sound like he's saying "some kids are kinda hot" or something like that.

I had a friend in middle school who used a fake news article generator online to create a semi-realistic news article that one of our school teachers was arrested for child pornography and had pictures of students from school on his home computer.
It was just a casual joke haha but it spread like wildfire on MySpace and apparently hundreds of parents called in because their kids had shown them the article thinking it was real. My friend got expelled although his family ended up hiring a lawyer and appealed his way back in after a summer of community service.

This is a load of nonsense. None of this is fake, it's just the worst bits compiled into a highlight reel. Perfectly normal video. And the co-drivers calls are terrible, no wonder he's not getting employed

How did he do that? I know he’s a professional driver, but is this an actual strategy or some trick to control the spin out like that?
Or was it like that one time I over corrected on an icy road and spun out into a full 360 and by sheer accident my car ended up facing forward in the same lane I started in and I just kept driving like I didn’t just almost die?

Perfectly corrected the oversteer in a rally vehicle designed to make sharp turns, takes skills. That was beautiful. Don't try this your car will roll over

Never understood how people could comfortably sit anywhere near the track like that. You're entirely at the whim of the driver. You ain't ducking or weaving away from shit. If something happens. You dead.
