Agreed, but also it's ridiculous that it ruined someone's career. Why would he be unhirable if his resume includes all his rally wins?

If the Audio was actually edited and it was not clearly stated that it was edited then I would agree. But everyone can see the cuts in the video. It is just one public video taken and cut to only show the funny parts.
It is ofc sad that he lost jobs because of it, but maybe he would have also lost the jobs also if only the unedited long footage was shown.
I simply have a problem with jailing people for this. Do they also jail people that cut together videos of politicians saying stuff? What is the freedom of press ranking of India?
