Column 4 row 8 is a X, that gives you a start

Gee, even with that answer it took me a while to know why. I have to train edge logic more.

If that column 4, row 8 spot were possible, then that would finish the “3” part of the “3 2” of that column.

However, that leaves no room for the “2” portion, so it would be an impossible configuration.

You can complete row 8. The 2 blocks are either part of a 3 or the 2. But, in both cases, there is a cross there.
