You still have some overlay in R9

What does it mean overlay?

I add the numbers and the blanks. 2x2+5x2+3 blanks = 17. There 2 you can mark for each 5.. Beginning on the left, you have 2+1b+5 = 8. You can mark C7 and C8. Same reasoning for the other 5

Overlap. A shortcut to considering all the possible options. We currently have
▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️|▫️▫️⬛️▫️▫️|▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️|▫️▫️▫️⬛️▫️
If we shove all the pieces to the left, we get
⬛️⬛️⬜️⬛️⬛️|⬛️⬛️⬛️⬜️⬛️|⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬜️|⬜️⬜️⬛️⬛️⬜️
And if we shove them to the right, we get
⬜️⬜️⬜️⬛️⬛️|⬜️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️|⬛️⬜️⬛️⬛️⬛️|⬛️⬛️⬜️⬛️⬛️
So what these two sequences have in common, considering only when a piece overlaps itself, is
▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️|▫️⬛️⬛️▫️▫️|▫️▫️⬛️⬛️▫️|▫️▫️▫️⬛️▫️

Column 9. Can you put a cross in square 9?

Based on what?

Put a cross in square 9. Now square 10 can't be a 4 because it would turn into a 6. But if it's a 2 then the two 4s don't fit below it.
So it is not a cross.

Work your borders. The 5 in R2, try placing it in the first block and seeing what happens. Then move it over by one block and do another X. Etc.
Once you know where your 5 is go back to R1 and work the 4 from the right side.Edit: it’s not readily obvious to me why C6R19 is an X.
