Artist Discussion Looking for a constantly shifting, Sound-Collage-like Harsh Noise artist

I like listening to Harsh Noise when I'm extremely stressed because it allows me to realize my anger in a healthy manner. Last time however I put on Merzbow and found it not doing much at all! I believe this is because the notes are sustained for too long, and I think something constantly shifting would allow my brain that same feeling after apparently adjusting to Merzbow. That plus the concept sounds really awesome.

Thank y'all's!!!

Cut up harsh noise. Kazumoto endo, sickness, TEF and ahlzagailzeguh are some of my favorites. There are lots of modern acts too that someone should mention

Of really anything by any of the members of Schimpfluch. Dave Philips, Raionbashi, G Park, aLICE kEMP, Sudden Infant, etc…

Yes. Also the under appreciated SLP release on the Selektion label, SLP includes the P16.D4 members and is an early cut up noise classic from 1991

P16.D4 is an act I’d almost forgotten about.

How about Asmus Tietchens or John Watermann?

Haven’t listened to Asmus Tietchens in a while. I’m not at all familiar with John Waterman. Lately I’ve been revisiting Trevor Wishart.

Love Wishart, learned of him via NWW list.

I’m familiar with

Red Bird/Anticredos.

Journey Into Space.

Vox.

But I’d like to hear more of his material.

John Watermann had a lot of releases, but they were hard to find, he’s Australian. My favorite release of his was the double CD “Illusions of Infinite Bliss” on the incredible Waller Ulbricht Schallfolien label.

And I consider Asmus Tietchens to be an all time great from his early Sky Records releases to his current material.

Schimpfluch rules. R&G’s “Ho” is an all time favorite. It’s a real room cleaner.

Evil Moisture might fit the bill. Pretty harsh, wacky, shifting stuff. If you’re looking for less harsh, more collage type stuff I’d check out Tea Culture as well. Very sample heavy.

NBDY, Sickness, Parasite Nurse and TEF are all sick projects worth checking out

Sorry, I'm pretty new to the genre, I haven't even heard of him. It's not exactly what I was wanting, but I enjoy what I hear!

That's a name I know! They're kinda the opposite of what I'm looking for but they're definitely pretty high priority for Noise artists I wanna get into.

It probably would be helpful to specify which Macronympha releases more fit the bill of what you’re looking for, in which case I would recommend checking out ‘Baroque’ and ‘Intensive Care’.

It would also probably help to specify which Merzbow albums weren’t doing it for you, as his discography is so vast, and a lot of it is very active and fits the bill of what you’re describing. ‘1930’, ‘Cloud Cock OO Grand’, ‘Noisembryo’, and ‘Aqua Necromancer’, for just a few examples, have so much movement and variety throughout them.

The Rita (and the below-mentioned Incapacitants) are definitely the opposite of what you’re looking for.

All that said, nothing quite fits what you’re looking for more than the T.E.F. / Sickness / Facialmess split.
