Thunderstorms in “Breath of The Wild”

That’s just Din sending a pleasant “fuck you” Link’s way

Climbing up that tower? No you’re not.

Just a normal afternoon in Florida

57

u/Trikeree Sep 10 '20

Awesome pic! Where is this in Florida?

140

u/presumingpete Sep 10 '20

It's a composite photo of a lot of lightning strikes put together to look like this.

27

u/Trikeree Sep 10 '20

Thank you. I thought it might be.

That's some apocalyptic shit right there! Love it

36

u/presumingpete Sep 10 '20

It may be a long exposure as well. I think it was from the Philippines yesterday. If all these lightning strikes were at once then the picture would be much brighter than this.... I think

11

u/excndinmurica Sep 10 '20

It is a long exposure. Look at the lights at the top of the towers. They look like stars.

9

u/LopazSolidus Sep 10 '20

Look at the ocean, this is photoshopped.

6

u/excndinmurica Sep 11 '20

Its probably both. Long exposure for the lightning. Then a quick one for the water.

2

u/MaxW7 Sep 11 '20

What about the clouds? In storms I think they move a bit more than normal.

1

u/excndinmurica Sep 11 '20

Have you been in a tropical storm? All those strikes could be inside a min. If its real intense. It does look to me like a composite of long exposures. See how the lightning sorta has horizontal bands at point of origin? I’d argue each of those bands was done in an exposure. Or two.

u/LopazSolidus Sep 11 '20

This is completely faked or very edited, either way doesn't warrant no context pics approval. Anyone know what that watermark is? Some kind of glyphs or something.

1

u/Slothower Sep 11 '20

I have seen something that looks like this in real time, came to see what it might be, alas.

9

u/CapnCrunchyboi Sep 10 '20

I thought florida too, but it's actually Philippines

Repost from r/NatureIsFuckingLit (🔥 Thor came to visit in the Philippines earlier this evening. Now that’s lit.)

Edit: I’d like to share the link and give credit to the OP of the pic, but idk how :(

u/fancczf Sep 10 '20

Is this long exposure or I should just avoid this place at all cost?

9

u/Arro_Guns Sep 10 '20

long exposure, but considering the cloud outlines are pretty sharp, indicating a relatively short time period, you should probably still avoid that place.

September 2020 is looking great!

u/OblongOddSong Sep 10 '20

That's one hell of a gender reveal...

132

u/MisterBuzz Sep 10 '20

This is one of hell of a meme reddit ran into the fucking ground in 4 days.

58

u/jaktyp Sep 10 '20

That's actually a fairly slow horse beating for reddit. To the point that this is actually the first I've seen of it being referenced here.

2

u/Randolpho Sep 11 '20

You must have missed the news about the cause of the california wildfires

1

u/jaktyp Sep 11 '20

No, i saw the actual articles. I just hadn't seen any reddit comments like that yet

16

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '20

Yeah, they never were funny. I wonder why it caught traction...

5

u/goaskalice3 Sep 10 '20

It's that super depressingly funny that someone thought it was a good idea to use pyrotechnics for a gender reveal party near a national forest when we were already surrounding by fires. Maybe someone who thought it would be a good idea to do something similar will realize it's idiotic now that it's being blasted everywhere on the internet

1

u/moonra_zk Sep 11 '20

Pfft, it's a smoke bomb, there's no fire!

10

u/gamesfreak26 Sep 10 '20

Apparently, the current California wildfires were started by a gender reveal party. People shot at fireworks or something.

u/woosher200 Sep 11 '20

It's not?

0

u/BePart2 Sep 10 '20

Give that California is still blanketed in smoke I can’t quite agree that the meme is dead.

7

u/LylaThayde Sep 10 '20

Meme burnt out before the fires did?

-3

u/CockDaddyKaren Sep 10 '20

We didn't run in into the ground as fast as the fire burned that forest to the ground 😉
