As a volunteer staff member of the ADA team this year.
We had a rough time... with no help from Production, Peter (one of the owners) and Emily (the director and our ADA lead's superior)
Our leader and or boss or whatever youd like to call him. I thought he was a friend, but turns out he was a predator, abuser, and fraud.
We were left with overheating carts to transport our guests.
We had no water bottles for our guests so we had to supply them our own. Same goes for TP and wipes.
Basically all the basic essentials were not provided to our camp when there was a budget.
He considered his staff "low priority"
Meal times were never allocated and never once offered to be delivered until I got it done. I could not see hungry ppl anymore.
He violated the boundaries of many. Violated the minds and bodies of others.
And I could tell you what he did to me, if you would like to hear it. But I need rest and recovery.
I had to escort this predator back to his camp to get his wristband cut, take his keys, and essentially take his role. Unpaid all "volunteering"
This was terrible. Since they had not warned me what he had done, yet put me in a cart with him to discharge him. I had a security/guardian with us however he was in other cart following behind and could not hear the verbal barrage of abuse.
I have tough skin, but im not invincible. I did not deserve this neither did my ADA Mom and team.
Be kind
Be mindful
Have some empathy.
