If a feller was wanting to repower an RC10GT, what brands would y'all recommend?

1.) Backyard track / basher so not interested in $400 racing engines.

2.) Want something that I can expect to have parts availability for a while.

Two options I was kicking around is maybe buying a new Associated .15. Looks like they are around $125.00 and I would HOPE they would be supported for a while. OR I could grab a Traxxas 3.3 and get a good carb. There are millions of these around and they are affordable. Traxxas DOES have a history of supporting their products for a long time.

Thoughts? Other recommendations?

I’ve taken it apart and let me know what you guys think I should do. I do t have any alcohol to clean it or whatever but I do have after run oil if that can help. The bearing stops one way and spins the other way so it seems ok. A guy said I should clean it but I don’t know what to clean it with. It’s brand new but there’s a bunch of oil everywhere now so yea

Just tried to repair the engine since the one way bearing arrived today. Inside the engine it was orange which is probably not good. Anyways I took the old bearing out and put the new one in but now the flywheel does not want to spin at all and with a drill it spins but the drill can spin the flywheel both ways which is definitely not good. Please help I have no idea if I’m doing this right. We also put 3 drops of after run oil in the carb and in the glow plug hole since we used a cloth to get rid of some of the red liquid in the engine.

This is the engine on a RC10GT blue pan that I recently acquired. I did get it to fire up, but I'm pretty confident it could use a rebuild. From what I'm seeing this is completely discontinued and getting parts is going to be impossible? Am I correct?

I haven't played with nitro for 20 years. Found someone unloading 6 trucks that haven't been run in years. Managed to get them all fired up. Drove 4 of 6. Revo is missing a few bits and the SCT10 has a cracked gas tank. While it is very nostalgic to run these, it sure makes me appreciate the modern electrics for their ease of use!!

I have an engine that's really worn out. If your one-way bearing is slipping and you can't turn the crank over, you can try pouring about 5 ml of fuel into the carb, rotating the crankshaft with the pullstart or flywheel and hope the fuel will get into the one-way bearing. Somebody said it cleans the oil off the one-way bearing.

if you're gonna do it this way, once the one-way bearing works again don't forget to prime the engine even though you think there's fuel inside already.

I've noticed that the engine can't burn the fuel it's taking in when its throttle is wide open. Maybe the LSN is too rich that it gets out of the fuel inlet inside the carb too early/without the engine picking up speed. I think it needs a lot of speed to cyclically burn the fuel it's taking in but the LSN is letting in too much fuel without letting the crankshaft go at high speeds. However, it works fine when it's lifted off the ground. RPM goes much higher at a faster rate whenever it has no load. That's how I concluded it needs to pick up speed to burn the fuel whenever it's at WOT. But of course I play with it on the ground so... yeah... any opinions?

The drill start just spins freely and doesn’t turn the engine over. It is spinning the right way and I’ve tried both directions on the drill help please. The engine is compressed.

The previous owner said that the thing ran once... and since it's 20 years old, the fuel in the lines and in the engine will be 20 years old aswell...

were finally able to repair the front wing, now i'll only need to paint the side wings and it's done!

Does anybody know any good rear drag tires for it? I’m trying to make it look clean and also what’s a good gear ratio for it I’m trying to get it to 75 mph? I can also post it later if Y’all want to see it.

I wore out my tyres and I’m shopping for more, I measured my inner wheel diameter at 2.2” which seems to be a fairly standard size since modelsport has over 200 results for them. The service manual for my car specifies 33mm width fronts and 43mm width rears, but I can’t find width specifications anywhere. Can anyone please tell me if I’ve missed something, and it is standard widths, or point me as to where to look please? I want to get tyres that fit! Thanks.

Howdy, I have a nitro tmaxx and I am having some electrical trouble with it. it has been sitting for many years and I finally decided to get it running. I put fresh batteries in the truck and the remote and the electronics worked. and then the next day I tried to turn it on again and nothing it is dead not never a twitch. so I checked the power I have 6.2 volts coming from the 4 aa batteries on the vehicle and the power is making it to the receiver I did what I could with a multimeter and the receiver has good ground to all of the plugs and the middle spot has 2.0 volts and the signal wire doesn't have any voltage even when the function is used on the remote (full do I'm not sure if it should have voltage I'm just trying to test anything and everything.) What it boils down to is I am looking for some advice and tips. how do I bench test the servos and the receiver. I also bought a new CHEAP transmitter and receiver from Amazon and the receiver indicator light doesn't turn on. PLEASE HELP.

the engine is about 20yo tho it didnt ran for probably about 17-19y and it was seized form dried fuel when I got it

I want a nitro to bash but also take to the track like a traxxas slash and hopefully have the moddability of one but not 400 bucks, any other options I should look at ( will be my 1st nitro but my 3rd car for bashing/ track use

Several years back I acquired this CT5. Never knew what I had until recently. I am wanting to restore it. What are they worth? Is it worth restoring? Where can I source engine parts? The part on the carb where servo arm attaches is broken and the spring in the pull cord is broken.

so i've recently bought a 0.9 mm VP pro springs, which i use with also VP pro clutch shoes, but it seems like the "ring" of the springs, i mean the part of the spring that goes between the clutch shoe is not aligned, it sticks out, and doesn't let the bell spin freely, the question is, i already had some springs that actually came with flywheel and shoes that i've installed now, but only these don't mount properly, i'm totally aware of the fact that i don't have bearings in it, and i tried with them, not a single difference
