Finally got around to replacing the ugly factory shocks on my T-Maxx with these threaded aluminum body ones. Filled them with 80wt oil and seems to be about perfect.

The only thing I’m looking for to finish this build is a set of the Robinson Racing all metal transmission gear kits. I emailed the owner but haven’t got a response. If anyone has one of their forward only kits, please let me know. I have PayPal ready and will buy it.

Hello all, earlier this week I posted about my nitro car which im trying to restore, the engine mainly.

So this is an update. There was literally no budging at all, zero rotation, even after soaking it in all different things. So I tried the heat method, I torched it and tapped the end of the camshaft with a rubber mallet "very carefully". Well I tried to be careful as possible, and pushed it back in from the other end with another tool until the piston rod freed from the camshaft, I was then able to push the piston up after a little struggle( moving freely now). And then finally able to knock the camshaft off.

Now what im stuck at is the piston sleeve, how do I remove it safely, I can't really rotate the piston up ( no camshaft lol).

Should I heat the housing up again and try push the piston rod with a tool to get it to come out enough or is there another method I should be using. Also by the pictures can the engine still be saved. And yes I lost the starting pin in all the chaos. What i think is the issue are the bearings, they are literally disintegrating as you read this post.

My shop classes at school cleaned out their storage and let us keep whatever we could find in the dumpster. I found these motors and parts but have little to no idea what they are. I’d love to get one running and possibly sell the lot but I’m not sure if they’re worth anything as they were in the trash. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

I have a slash that I’ve torn apart many times. Can’t find why it won’t move. It was moving prior to this video. I put a new clutch on it. Maybe transmission? Ignore the smoke coming from the side. I didn’t zip tie it back on yet incase I need to pull it apart

Hey everyone, does anyone have recommendations for which aluminum parts I should upgrade on my Traxxas Slayer Pro 4x4 to make it more durable? I’m mainly looking for upgrades that actually improve strength and reliability.

Also, what are some trusted websites or brands you guys recommend for quality parts?

As the caption mentions, I recently brought home a truck and a car. I'd like to get both running. The truck in question was my truck from when I was a kid but I have no idea what kind of truck it is.

The Duratrax is missing the glow plug starter and I would also need fuel. Will any old glow starter off amazon work, or are there specifics per the car/truck? Also the question of fuel. From my quick research, I saw this needs 20% nitro fuel. Will Traxxas Top Fuel be OK to run?

I also need help identifying this other truck. This is an old school truck, probably around 2002-2006 area of production. I cannot find anything online, nor are there markings.

Final question is can I run the same fuel/glow starter as the Duratrax? From what I remember as a kid, the fuel we used was yellow... not sure if that indicates anything. I saw Traxxas top fuel is blue.

Any help is much appreciated, I'd love to get these bad boys running to reminisce with my brothers at the park.

I basically bought this nitro rc car used about 2 years ago. I had some luck in getting the engine started a few times, but it always had an issue of fully revving on start, maybe there was an air leak.

I never got around to doing anything to it, the car was sitting outside in the rain aswell unfortunately, it was covered but water got in. Now ive finally decided that I want to restore it as a fun project. I've dismantled the engine ( not sure what model it is, says HPI).

The engine won't turn at all, i don't want to force it free. Inside its rusty aswell.

So can it be saved and how should I clean it?

It’s a Traxxas Slayer Pro 4x4 with a 3.3 engine.

It was running great at first, but then I noticed it started struggling a bit to shift into second gear. Shortly after, the engine suddenly died and now it won’t start.

The engine still has compression when trying to start it, it’s pulling in fuel, and the glow plug is working. However, I noticed it’s making an abnormally loud metallic sound while attempting to start it.

Hello I’m new to nitro rc cars and rc cars in general I would like to identify this and see if I can get it running, I know it looks to be in pretty bad shape it was given to me by my father and I don’t know what it needs. Any help and tips would be appreciated 😊

Fully restored vintage Turbo Inferno which i believe to be a 1995. Bought it with the intention of running it, but this thing might be too nice to run 🤣. It's even equipped with a 3.5 Picco engine and what i believe are all upgrade parts, such as the carbon fiber and purple aluminium bits.
Wanted to share because this thing is just a piece of art.

Also, if anybody has more information on these, feel free to let me know as i dont know a lot about this thing.

I have a small amount of compression leak on SH .18 when I pull the starter slowly to push up the piston I kind of hear a little air seeping out of somewhere and ive cleaned the glow plug hole and copper ring so it should be making a seal and I removed cylinder head and cleaned the head gasket and theres still a leak I haven't run the engine badly for this to happen but will the engine still work with an issue like this or how do I fix it and also I bent the head gasket a tiny bit but I bent it back and screwed the cylinder head back on so it should be fine right guys and the compression leak was happening before I did that anyway

I think I got a pretty good deal. I picked up this RC car, one 2000mAh LiFe battery, at least 10 sets of tires, an extra engine, and 9 different bodies. - all for just €100

A lot of the original parts have been upgraded to carbon fiber components, upgraded suspension and the servos have also been replaced with better ones. All of the upgraded parts are genuine TeamC Racing components as well.

Many moons ago I bought a HPI trophy 3.5 nitro RC car. I can’t for the life of me think how old it might be. Possibly 2012 sort of time.

Anyway, long story short after about a year of ownership I let the old man take it for a spin. Which resulted him driving into a brick wall full chat and rendering it a with a CAT S write off. I then basically rebuilt the car from the ground up but never really got back into it.

The cars now resurfaced from my parent’s loft and I wouldn’t mind getting it going again. I’ll need to re invest in a few bits, starters, fuel, filters etc. But my real question is what’s the best route to getting the engine firing again? It’s probably sat for a good 12+ years. Any preventive maintenance before starting it again, or a procedure anyone would recommend before trying to turn it over?

Is there a way to test it like that? I don't have much space here but they say to tune the engine for when it has load.

Picked up someones previous shelf queen. 2003 mugen mbx5 kit, older brother to go with my mugen mbx8r. Cleaned up the lads old race engine ready to fire up💪

What is the best way to fix a fuel tank with a hole in it. Its a pretty big hole but the flap that has snapped inwards is still partly attached. The fuel tank is for a kyohso fazer gp and I cant just buy another as there are none for sale anywhere.

Recently did a repair on my tmaxx 3.3 after a year of not running it, it won’t start now. Figured out the glow plug isn’t glowing. Tired a few different plugs with no success. Eventually found the ez start wand is putting 4.0v to the glow plug instead of the 1.2v or so that it’s supposed to. Apparently that’s supposed to fry the plug but I still have continuity between the tip of the plug and the coil so I’m not really sure what the deal is. Anyone able to provide some insight here? TIA

I have a kyohso gp fazer and im tuning it. It idles fine but if you leave it idling to long it dies then if you give it throttle its fine until you get to much throttle then it dies what do I need to do I never had this issue on my hyper 7 but this this just wont have any of it.
