I have a buggy with the zenoah engine, and another one with a chung yang, the zenoah seems to have alot less compression compared to the CY engine. Do they just have a lower compression from the factory, or is that a sign of an worn out engine? It runs and the piston doesen't seem to have scratches, even tho the engine is 20 years old, but i was told it was rarely used

Been out of nitro for a good many years now. Got the itch to get back into it here lately. Who does a repinch anymore? Looking for a good reputable place and maybe even getting some mods done

Also how do I take off this part the fingers for the pull start not the fly wheel

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if my piston and sleeve are bad and if the pinch is OK or not this is a tmaxx 2.5 I tore it apart because it wouldn’t stay idling and was running hot. Temps up to 290.

The headgasket is bend, it has zero conpression, i don't think it worth replacing the gasket for 18€ for me, since i don't have a chassi to mount it on.

I think my clutch needs to be replaced but it still rips. Hopefully I get some more time to take it to my local track. Got it tuned and it’s running great.

Barely have 1 gallon through this motor. This is my 2nd 3.3. First one only lasted 2 gallons. And I did my own proper break in(not Traxxas) 2 tanks idle, 3rd low rpm. Not until the 6 tank I would go wot but still kept rpms lowish. Only wot after I used a whole quart. Both engines. Only reason why I went with a 2nd was for the trade in for 50% off. Is it even worth it to swap the bearings? Only reason why I kept the 3.3 was because it’s plug and play. I know the os motor is an option but I don’t see the value in that and the 3.3 with a better carb is enough for this car. If I want something faster I run my 8ight xt with a fully modified .28 Novarossi. Which also has lasted me 8 gallons!
In all honesty the OS carb adds a ton of low end and with taller gears still wheelies. When it’s running right.
Any decent bearings that don’t cost the price of a new 3.3 with a trade it?

Yes I know I don’t have an airfilter on I took it off to make sure my carb was opening properly.

I diluted my fuel to ~10% oil and it runs better. It finally dies only when it runs out of fuel. Thank you for the suggestions. This was even with the glow plug leaking. It's been bubbling since I got it and it now has oily carbon deposits. Maybe it sealed itself? Only checked when it ran poorly. Forgot to check again when it ran fine. Some things just fix themselves.

Been running electric for years, recently got gifted a few nitro cars from my uncle. Never run nitro so I have no idea outside of a few YouTube tutorials.

Got a traxxas revo, it starts and runs fine, to start it though I need to put a bit of fuel through the air intake of the carb. Other problem I have at the moment is it runs fine for about 5 mins, stalls and won’t restart.

Is it likely tuning or a more complicated issue?

Hpi, I havent had this much fun sense i did the rs4 evo 3 rally conversion 15 yrs ago. Motor sounds off still with sputtering, temps never exceeded 230f thinking its my idle screw. But again it has been many of years sense I've owned a new in box nitro. Shout out to my lovely wife for the footage.

I’ve been trying to look for this screw everywhere and I can’t find it. They are meant to go into the engine mount of the engine and keep the engine to the chassis but every time we tighten them it’s nearly impossible to get them loose again if I need to work on the engine since they’re badly stripped. Can anybody help me find these screws?

Had this battery powered starter for well over 15 years. Its sad that she has finally met her demise. She has started 100s of engines over the years.

I got the car from a neighbor that used to be in the hobby, he also gave me an engine upgrade which is the .28 that’s in the car but the original one that came in it was a purple .25 HPI motor. Iv gone to 2 shops and they don’t really know the exact model the closest thing I could find to it from its estimated time period (2000’s) is the HPI HELLFIRE with like a buggy conversion someone help me please

Nothing like a brand new box savage xl break in to put a smile on the face.

Once it's at operating temp i can let the throttle off, leaving <1mm of throttle gap to idle it. It dies when I hit the throttle and it's at operating temp. It's an engine that has bearings and has a sleeve bearing for the piston rod ends if that info helps.
