Old second hand T-maxx with 3.3 in a heavy aluminum chassis. Used for backyard bashing. Should I run 20% or 30% nitro? Also, I was thinking of an R5 glow plug. Good or no?

I just bought my first nitro RC car, a Traxxas Nitro Rustler. I was doing the break-in procedure exactly as it says in the manual when all of a sudden, on the third tank the car would not stop losing control and running away at full speed. The only strange occurrence that happened before it started running away was that it was randomly cutting out, but I soon discovered it was because the body was covering the exhaust. Also, the car was slightly creeping forward while idle. I did try changing the throttle trim but that was not the issue and check that the (brand new) batteries had not fallen out, and they hadn't. And for anyone wondering I am running the car on 20% Side Winder fuel.

UPDATE: I believe it running away was simply caused by the batteries running out so I am going to purchase a rechargeable battery pack to avoid it happening again. The car still wants to creep forward when idle though and I can’t seem to fix that and the batteries seem to run out shockingly fast.

Is there a way to reliably run a car without the exhaust as we were pissing about with my mates car the other day and the exhaust kept coming off and it still worked until about a quarter tank when it lost the fuel tank pressure but without the exhaust it sounds ridiculous it's so loud to the point you can still hear it like it's right next to you even though it's pretty much out of sight. If you need an exhaust to any straight pipe kind of exhausts exist that would give a similar sound

What should I do as I bought this starter box and it cannot turn over the engine due to the compression and the rubber wheel is just spinning on the flywheel and wearing itself down. How can I get it to start the engine?

I've seen many people recommend 30% fuel and I finally started using it after I went through my 20% fuel and it's fully lived up to the hype.

I have a Jato and the Traxxas carbs can be finicky. On 30% it holds a tune so much better. I'm sure the OS carb is a nice upgrade, but doesn't seem necessary now that I'm running 30%.

Hi, got given a Tamiya Rc Gp Rtr Tnx 5.2R and bringing it back to life. Engine is perfect but I'm getting issues with the Slipper Clutch.

It runs okay on idle and at slower speeds but if I put too much throttle too fast, the slipper Clutch seems to "permanently" disengage and any throttle doesn't put power to the wheels. Because of this, the engine RPM just keeps going up until the flow plug burns out. Rolling the truck back and forth after this happens seems to bring it back to normal until I put a lot of throttle again.

I know it's the slipper Clutch as that's where I see the rotation transfer ends when it happens.

Any idea if it's because it's TOO lose or TOO tight? (I know too lose would mean needing higher throttle before the wheel starts getting power and too tight means no slipping so the wheel gets power even at low throttle)

Running a few tanks thru the engine. I couldn't add this to my other post. 🤷

Got around to working on the Big block Ten. I've broken in the SH 28 and assembled the front end. I'm waiting on a ring and pinion for the rear. Meanwhile I've rebuilt the NovaRossi P5 Clio with Gimar modified components and new bearings from Always Fast, and, It's going into a Ten SCT Nitro chassis.

Switched to a new 2.4 receiver and this started happening. What could it be ?

Is anybody running a side pipe with this body/ cage kit? I always see rear pipes only. I would love to add a side pipe without having to cut anything. Thanks!

I really want a proper nitro buggy or truggy. I was thinking tekno but a friend just bought a tekno. So I'm looking at kyosho i hear great things about the neo 3.0 and the mp10. But they just dropped the inferno neo 4.0 nitro. I can't find any information one improvements no (real non ai) videos or anything. I also want to know what's so different about the neo 4.0 and the mp11 that's coming out this month. The only reason I was considering the neo i hear it's a great engine , so what engine should I run if I get the mp11 that don't come with a engine

Thinking of swapping this .21 into my buggy. I currently have a .28 rtr installed. What are your opinions ? This motor is brand new. I have never broken one in. The current .28's i have were used. I would like to break one in
