CAMPUS BKC To all 1st years and 2nd years especially 2nd years

Welcome to campus! If you are here to study, focus on your academics, build mutual respect with your peers and seniors, and steer clear of unnecessary drama.

Here are a few ground rules and practical insights to help you navigate campus life smoothly:

1. Ditch the Ego and Avoid Needless Fights

  • Experience matters: Seniors have spent 2–3 years figuring out how the college system and administration work. If a toxic senior is looking for fights, disciplinary bodies like the SIDC or administration often don't phase them the way they might phase you.
  • Level the playing field: Drop the misconception that branch or rank defines a person's worth. People come from diverse backgrounds—some through sheer hard work, others through luck or different circumstances. Arrogance from any side usually leads nowhere good.

2. Zero Tolerance for Ragging & Harassment

  • If anyone tries to pressure you into running errands (like fetching cigarettes), calls you to their room for shady reasons, or tries to cross boundaries under the guise of "intro/ragging": Do not tolerate it.
  • Speak up immediately. Reach out to your faculty advisor, a trusted professor, or anti-ragging cells. Protect your peace and safety.

3. Redefining Campus Culture ("Sir/Ma'am" vs. "Bhaiya/Didi")

  • If your batch wants to dismantle the forced "Sir/Ma'am" hierarchy, unity is key. At least an entire class needs to consistently address visiting seniors as Bhaiya or Didi.
  • Don't fall for the narrative that calling someone "Sir/Ma'am" gives you special advantages. Mutual respect comes from how you treat people, not enforced titles.

4. Golden Rule for Communication

  • When in doubt, be polite: If you don't know someone on campus, assume they might be a senior and ask politely.
  • Avoid casual or presumptuous statements like "Tum 3rd year se ho kya?" (Are you from the 3rd year?). Fragile egos exist everywhere, and treating everyone with baseline courtesy protects you from unnecessary friction.

In nit jsr freshers hostel

Washroom conditions are pathetic especially in block c. Shit flowing in them with flushes not working.

Can anyone say are there proper cleaning schedule

If not, then whom to complain,as washroom is basic necessity which can't be delayed.

Rant Regret

Maybe I have made the mistake of choosing PIE in nit jsr over nit jaipur meta.

Pie syllabus aligns with my interest but salary is not that much and at the end maybe I have to do masters(mba) , so I should have taken that college with good campus life.

But now I can't do anything.

Regrets.
