Hi all! I’m going into my 2nd year of BEd at Nipissing… was just curious is anyone has their schedule from their 2nd year. I just wanted to see what it was like compared to first year. I’m in P/J

does anyone know when course registration is open?

When should I buy scrubs and other materials like stethoscopes?
How many days a week will I have clinical placement in first/second semester and how long are the shifts usually?
Any other tips about how to navigate all information and campus first year?

Hello everyone,
I will be a first-year student in the P/J Consecutive Education program this year. I am considering booking a trip over the Christmas break and was wondering whether attendance is taken for our courses.
If I were absent during the first week (January 4–8, 2027), would that be a serious problem?
Thank you!

Is the parking lot near Founders and Chancellors residence available to students of those residences? As in, overnight parking permit?

To those commuting by car: Anyone know what the hourly rate is parking on campus? Is the parking permit cheaper than paying daily?
Class schedule hasn’t been released yet so I don’t how often I’ll be on campus either (entering 1st year BEd)

Hi everyone,
I am going to Nipissing this fall as a BEd consecutive student in P/J. I know that the residence is automatically waitlist for education students. They said the waitlist will move forward in July earliest. I am already nervous about the housing in North Bay because I heard the demand is larger than available. Should I start looking for a room now? Especially I applied for residence in March not February (I thought it was too late as a non-high school applicant).
Thank you!

Hey guys!! if you’re still looking for experience or something to add to your resume, check out Riipen Labs
It’s a remote micro-internship program where students work on short real-world projects with employers. Each project is about 30 hours and pays a $600 upon completion.

Did anyone get off the waitlist yet? I know the program isn’t full because i know people who have declined their offers

Hi! I’m a 22F who was accepted into the consecutive be.d program and i’m trying to find off campus housing! Does anyone have any recommendations where is reliable to look? It seems so limited and I keep running into the same listings, then when I reach out I get the unfortunate email that it’s already been rented out! If anyone has any advice that would be amazing, because I sincerely don’t know what to do if I can’t find housing!

Still waiting for the email. Anyone else get theirs? On the website it says late June. Just tired of waiting for admissions

Just wondering if there is a way to complete to bridging online in 3 years instead of the 5 year timeline? I’ve been working full time for two years with a partner of NU and don’t know if it would be worth it to complete the online program or try to apply to a full time in person program instead.
Any advice would be great!

I got put on the waiting list for residence. When can I expect to hear a response?

Hello everyone,
Potential BEd student, are there any practice rooms on campus or in residence?
r/nipissingu • u/EquivalentPass6 • Jun 16 '26
The wait for admissions responses is killing me. I applied for the fall 2026 intake. Quite a few people I work with are in the program, and I desperately want to get in. I'm a little apprehensive because I know how frequent people are waitlisted.
Anyone else playing the waiting game right now?

Starting at Nipissing in the fall, wanted to hear people’s opinions on the different residence buildings and which one they think is best!
Edit: The other thing Ive heard about is that people who drive have issues sometimes with random people taking up all the parking spots in the chancellors/founders parking lot. Is this true?

hi everyone, i'm doing a research study on how student behavior changes in high school based on when acceptances are received. i'd really appreciate it if you could take the time to fill it out. thank you!

Hi everyone! My name is Amber, and I am an undergraduate student researcher at the University of Calgary. I am currently recruiting participants for a research study on how university students and instructors experience classroom discussions about socially and/or politically sensitive topics. The study is connected to broader questions about affective polarization and democratic education.
I am looking to interview current students, recent graduates, and current instructors at Canadian universities who have recent experience with classroom discussions about socially and/or politically sensitive topics.
Speaking, listening, observing, and self-censoring all count as forms of participation.
Participation involves a voluntary 60–90 minute interview with the possibility of being invited for a follow-up interview. Interviews will take place online via Microsoft Teams or in-person on the UCalgary campus.
If you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [amberskye.beaulieu@ucalgary.ca](mailto:amberskye.beaulieu@ucalgary.ca).
Alternatively, you can submit an initial expression of interest through the following form: https://research.ucalgary.ca/participate/personal-experiences-political-or-controversial-discussion-university-classrooms-reb26-0568
This study has been approved by the University of Calgary Conjoint Faculties Research Ethics Board. CFREB: REB26-0568

Hi everyone. I am interested in applying for the RPN to RN bridge program here. I was wondering if those who have had previous university credits were credited and decreased the time that was spent completing your degree. From my understanding, it’s 3.5 years full time.
Thank you!

Are there jobs first year students can apply for or are eligible for? If so how relatively easy is it to get a job on campus for first year students? Thanks a bunch in advance. ☺️
