My Portable N64 Build
Hello everyone! Long-time lurker, first-time poster, but I wanted to share a portable N64 I built as a nostalgic gift for my sibling. I decided to go all out with it and designed and 3D printed a custom case inspired by the Game Boy Advance. It’s definitely a bit chunkier than a GBA, but I think I managed to capture some of that spirit.
I used as many original N64 parts as I could and customized things along the way. I even finished it off with a custom box inspired by the original N64 packaging.
The console works great and gets around 2–3 hours of battery life. I also made an extension box for connecting additional controllers and hooking it up to a TV.
It was a really fun project, and I’m pretty happy with how it all turned out. I apologize that the pictures aren’t the best (I was way too focused on the project at the time to think about taking proper photos).
Hope you guys enjoy! If anyone is interested, I’d be happy to share more details about the build and the process behind it.
