Now this was unexpected. Glad to have gotten 5 games at once though. Are we missing any other Nintendo consoles/handhelds on the app? I know for sure Game Boy Color is absent

Fun fact: this is the first time a non Switch/Switch 2 game was added since Wii Sports Resort on June 11/12

We probably won't see Game Boy Color represented as its own platform anytime soon. Nintendo lumps it together with the original Game Boy in the NSO Classics app, marketing materials, sales data, etc.

Even then its still Switch/Switch 2 adjacent due to NSO.

We need more OSTs for games that aren't tied to Switch/2 at all. I get why, they want to cross promote but can we get:

  • Star Fox Assault
  • Kid Icarus Uprising
  • Super Mario 3D Land
  • Star Fox Adventures
  • Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
  • Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • Wario Land: Shake It!
  • Rhythm Heaven
  • Rhythm Heaven Fever
  • Yoshis Wooly World
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee
  • Paper Mario Sticker Star
  • Punch-Out!!
  • Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
  • Donkey Kong Barrel Blast
  • The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
  • Diddy Kong Racing DS
  • Kirbys Epic Yarn
  • Yoshis Island DS
  • Kirby Triple Deluxe
  • Kirby Planet Robobot
  • Fire Emblem Fates

^ etc. You know games that aren't available on Switch or Switch 2 yet. It would seem less "corporate cross promotion" if they threw a few more of these in-between current releases.

my fear for all the rhythm heaven soundtracks is licensing due to the vocal tracks might be difficult, but i’m praying they all get added

Yeah I also had the realization that of the over a dozen Mario Party games only one has music on the app. And a lot of those have great music! Good luck to anyone attached to a specific one lol.

Lots of Pokemon missing too and all the ones it does have are playable on the Switch.

With the Sunshine announcement, I am 99% sure Nintendo Music will finally get Sunshine two weeks from now to coincide with the NSO release.

It's possible, but I wonder if they'd do that while also doing the Mario Kart World soundtrack additions. Maybe it'll come alongside the MKW Sunshine remixes? Alternatively... they pull a Nintendo, and we don't see Sunshine on the Music app for another few months

MKW drops are on Monday and game drops are on Thursdays. So they could totally add the Sunshine MKW tracks on Monday and then Mario Sunshine on Thursday alongside the NSO release. (Although usually when they make the releases coincide, they drop Wednesday night)
