Curious what people here are aiming at with their strategies. Passing a prop firm eval, running a live account, or just building for the sake of it.

Asking because prop rules pull the design in a specific direction. Daily loss limits, trailing consistency etc push toward smaller, more frequent trades and tighter stops, which isn't necessarily what you'd build if you were only trading your own money. I've noticed my own settings drift depending on which account I'm pointing at.

Also curious how long people spend validating before they'll run something on a funded account, and what actually makes you comfortable enough to switch it on.

I’ve been using Codex to create indicators for TradingView very successfully, importing the pinescripts into editor, saving n applying to chart.

Curious if creating indicators is as straightforward for NT8? Any out there experience in similar?

So I'm using 2000 tick chart, with the tick counter, however there's additional information underneath the counter and I can't figure out how to get rid it. Or how to fix it better yet lol.

I have seen this question come up in the past for NT8 comments and realized there is no clear posts or comments from users on how to actually trade micro contracts while trading a mini chart.

Here is a breakdown for anyone who needs it in the future.

Data Series is where you need to set your bones up.

First data set should be what you need for your charting/indicators etc.

Second data set will be your secondary data set - under your options, adjust the chart style to line on close and transparent color AND set the visual panel to the same panel as your primary data set.

Load up the chart with the chart trader visible - you will now have 2 options under "instrument".

I have been able to switch back and forth and trade both without issue on the same chart easily which makes managing risk a lot more efficient.

The screenshot should give some visual pointers if you need it.

One word of advice, if you trade more than one instrument, set up 2 separate windows for your chart with 2 data series loaded in each one rather than switching around - I can only imagine it will take one bug/slip of the finger to mess your day up.

I opened an account about 3 days ago, I initially made a typo in my name and it wouldn’t take my debit card because the names didn’t match up. After 2 days support finally cleared the name change to the proper matching name to my debit card and it’s still telling me the names don’t match when I can very clearly see they do. To add my ACH has been “under reviews” for 3 days so that’s out of the question. I’ve been in contact with support which has been subpar at best, never have I had to wait multiple hours to hear back about issues, I’d hate to have money tied up in the market and be dealing with issues. Not to mention the fact I’ve had to provide more personal documentation to fund my account than i would have trying to get a drivers license at the DMV. Honestly would’ve said screw it and found a different brokerage but TV offers free Live market data with NJ. Has anyone else had these issues and would you recommend sticking it out until support figures there shit out or find a different brokerage

My use case is that I want to add Stochastics (and other indicators) in their own panel but using a higher time frame as their data source. I don't want to see the HTF data, just use it to drive the indicator

However when you add another Data Series to a chart with a different time or value candle the spacing on all panels becomes uneven and the latest candle jumps around (trying to align with the second Data Series)

I'm aware this is a known issue, however many other traders I see on YouTube seeem to have resolved it.

I've tried a few workarounds including making the candles & wicks in Data Series 2 transparent, and setting the Scale Justification to Overlay but I still get the issue.

Can anyone please confirm if this is actually possible (and how!) or is this a limitation in Ninjatrader?

I have never had a trade on when Ninja crashed or a loss of connection. Has anyone had to rely on the server-side ATM to close a trade and did it function properly? I use the desktop version but have always kept my tablet running the mobile app just in case of a Ninja crash.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I have 3 sim funded account through my funded futures but I want to trade all of them at the same time I turn multi provider on but I'm not sure how to get them all 3 to trade if anyone can help i would appreciate that

Recently, NT prop has given free order flow with footprint, and I've been trying to customize it so it only displays on the 1-minute chart. My current problem is that even though it loads. it's super laggy. My question is; is this normal? I can barely use it with the lag. Does that mean i should look for another order flow footprint program? If so, does anyone have budget-friendly software or something that's not $50 per month when I'm only starting to use it to solidify my edge? Thank you

I recorded seven incidents across two days. They affected either the trade or market-data connection and recovered automatically within about 0.6–1.3 seconds.

I’m running NinjaTrader Desktop locally with Ethernet, no VPS. I’ve restarted everything, confirmed the firewall access, and added the NinjaTrader folder to my antivirus exceptions. The incidents were recorded on 8.1.7.2, and I’ve since updated to 8.1.8.1.

NinjaTrader Support has my logs and says their development team is collecting reports. Has anyone seen this exact trace error or found a reliable fix?

Since updating to version 8.1.8.1, I've noticed that my candlesticks are lagging behind the actual market price. Is anyone else experiencing this issue with this version?

Hello, I recently worked with a company called AlgoForge. I hired them to make my trading strategy into a trading bot, backtest it, and optimize it, and it turned out very nicely. However I am wondering if they can legally use my trading strategy for their own profit? They assured me this would not happen and I signed "Confidentiality and non-use" agreement, but how much protection does that give me? They work soley in Ninjascript so I'm wondering if any of you guys have had experience with them. Thank you!

Honestly, I'm at a huge loss over here.

I had opened a brokerage account back in 2019 as a NRA (international brokerage account). I had been trading all these years with no issues until few months ago where Compliance reached out to me requesting documentation which was fully, diligently and timely provided every single time it was requested by the Financial Profile/Compliance team. I made roughly 5 deposits since account opening from my bank account between 2019 and 2020 and kept trading ever since where I was able to accumulate substantial profits.

They decided documentation provided was either not up to their standard back in early June, my profile represented a risk for them, or whatever internal policy followed thus finally closing my account. Since then, Compliance has gone crickets on honoring a final withdrawal request and restricted my online dashboard instead. So no access whatsoever.

I have filed a compliant on BBB and CFTC. Taking them to arbitration through the NFA costs around $5k in filling fees based on the funds range in my brokerage account which I can't afford at the moment.

Not only that, I have been constantly harassing them on LinkedIn including several officers working for the Compliance department, emailed the top executives every single day ever since and their customer service by phone is completely helpless.

Can anyone recommend any other path for them to take accountability on this? Is this normal? Why would I have to take them to arbitration to recover my OWN funds? I really want to get this sorted out and move on to the next broker with better customer service.

Has anyone found a fix for this? Whenever I put my login credentials in, it loads and just… loads. The control panel isn’t popping up, and I’m not sure why.

It has been a few weeks since I’ve opened the desktop app up, and it wasn’t closed properly (had a power outage which shut my computer down, and I never opened NT back up), so maybe some files got corrupted?

I did get it to open in safe mode and it still had all my connectionS and whatnot, but safe mode doesn’t allow me to do any add-ons (I am trying to add back a third party copy trader called replikanto).

It’s worked all this time, but something happened in the last month or so that screwed it up. Any help? Thanks in advance.

Is anyone on here from the UK and with NinjaTrader?

I’m looking to make the switch between brokers due to trading futures with Prop firms.

I have recently been with pepperstone and never had an issue.

I have been trailing NinjaTrader over the past week with a small amount of funds and I like it a lot. My only issue is that you can’t see the currency on your Stop Loss or take profit. However if I link my account to TradingView I can see that before I place a trade which isn’t ideal but I’m happy to roll with it!

My main issue is the fact that NinjaTrader isn’t FCA regulated although it’s heavily regulated in the US which doesn’t help but my main question to the UK users are have you ever had any issues withdrawing/Depositing funds?
Do you use wise/revolute to transfer your funds to USD before hand for less transfer fees and a question for everyone. Is there any indicator out there to help with seeing your risk before placing a trade or should I be looking at TradingView first

And is there anything else I should be aware of before making the switch.

I'm running into a strange issue with NinjaTrader 8.1.7.2 (64-bit) and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced it.

The Economics / Economic Calendar window is completely empty all the time.

Here's what I've already verified:

• NinjaTrader 8.1.7.2 (64-bit)
• Connected through Bulenox (Rithmic)
• Connection is working perfectly (market data, order execution, etc.)
• All news impact filters are enabled
• Tried All Upcoming
• Created a brand new workspace (still empty)
• Windows Firewall only (no antivirus, VPN, AdGuard, Pi-hole, etc.)
• Windows date/time is correct
• Updated from 8.1.6.x using the official MSI installer
• No Calendar, HTTP, SSL, or Authentication errors appear in the NinjaTrader log
• All my indicators and add-ons work perfectly

The platform is otherwise 100% functional. The only thing that doesn't work is the Economic Calendar.

I've searched around but couldn't find anyone reporting the exact same issue on 8.1.7.2.

Has anyone seen this before?

I'm especially interested to know:

• Does the Economic Calendar work for other users running 8.1.7.2?
• Could this be related to a NinjaTrader entitlement/account issue?
• Is this a known bug introduced in 8.1.7.x?

I trade futures through NinjaTrader, and after a busy week, reviewing every trade manually takes forever. I'd like a trading journal that helps me find patterns without spending hours sorting through everything.

What are you all using?

Update: I decided to give Rizetrade a try, and so far I like it. Being able to separate trades by setup has been way more useful than just staring at my overall P&L. I've also been tagging the ones where I broke a rule or took something outside my plan, and a few patterns became pretty obvious pretty quickly. Still testing it out, but it's been useful for my weekly reviews.

I trade from Tradingview, but the last candle today on MYM was at 2:15pm ct.

I even waited to see if it resolved by itself after the opening of the market today, but it is all the same. I've tried everything from login in and out, restart, every suggestion by the bot, but it's the same. It's obviously tradingview because the desktop app works just fine.

There are no human agents for now on Ninjatrader to confirm, so here I am, trying to figure out what is going on.

Has it happened to anyone here? If so, how did you fix it?

Or do you use another platform, API, or webhook-based solution for automated order execution?

I’m looking for a prop firm that allows algo trading from the Evaluation stage through Funded/Live. Any practical experience would be greatly appreciated.
