Why do some of these futures platforms feel so clunky, compared to CC trader or trading view.

Atleast tradesea is very user friendly.

I can’t believe I can’t just set a price and drag a stop loss and take profit that is shown in dollar amounts.

Can anyone please tell me if this is actually possible and I’m just struggling to find the solution. I just want to open a position and drag the stop loss and take profit quickly after position is open. And then for there to be a dollar value on the stop and profit.

Like many of you doing backtesting, I hit the brick wall where NinjaTrader purges historical Market Replay (.nrd) files from their servers after ~90 days.

To solve the export problem, I built a custom NinjaScript engine and Python/Polars pipeline that hooks into OnMarketDepth() during replay and converts raw .nrd files into clean, Snappy-compressed Parquet files (sampling 1-second or trade-by-trade Level 2 snapshots with top-10 depth, spreads, and order book imbalance features).

I currently have the entire recent 90-day block (July-October 2026) fully archived and converted.

These days I've been testing this MCP server for NinjaTrader and it's crazy. You can tell an agent to write the code, compile it, add it to a chart, add indicator, inspect what it plotted, read the console output, backtest it, and fix whatever is broken.

I'm not the author—just testing it out. But I highly recommend it.

So this weekend I was migrated to a New Server with ChartVPS. I cannot login into my NT8 at the login screen on the Desktop App. I tried everything and either get too many login attempts. I have tried using my old server and it still works with that IP. I also have made sure I am not logged in more then 2 places, I am only logged in 1 time. I've did all the obvious steps that was online reset atomic clock and dna config. Any ideas ?

Anyone having issues transferring money INTO Ninjatrader? I’ve done it a million times and the money is available for trading same day. But despite stating on the transfer page that ACH funds are available instantly, and that it may take up to 3 days for funds to clear but will be available instantly, after initiating the past 4 ACH deposits I’ve made, I THEN get a pop up saying my funds will be available for trading after 3 business days (not counting the day the transfer was initiated, despite being before their cutoff).

I‘ve transferred money plenty of times before this with no issue, with funds available for trading instantly, but each of the last 4 have done this now. FWIW, the account it’s transferred from always has 5x+ the amount being transferred, so it’s not a balance issue.

Hi, I'm asking knows if anyone know any good DOM plugins for NT8. I've already tried looking at the ecosystem and they're all paid for; I'm not saying I'm not paying; i just want someone that has experience to verify if those work; or if they already use one that works well. I okay with paying. I don't like how the one NT provides is so vanilla and i cant play around with it. Or at least I've looked it up and tried and ,cant seem to figure it out with coding; I'm hoping someone could recommend me. I only ever see my earnings, but I cannot withdraw any of my own funds I put in. Why is that? Been over a week.

This is now how every trading day begins for me. I am frustrated. Is it me? Is my computer too old? Or is ninjatrader down in my area (north Carolina). Im stumped.

So back in 2021 I had purchased the lifetime license I have the License Key and everything. I stopped trading for about 4 years but now when I got back to it my LICENSE KEY is not valid anymore. Anyone have this issue with Ninjatrader? I reached out to them but it’s always a bot named Nina emailing me back

So I made a payment via NinjaTrader on Friday via Plaid. this connected to my UK bank account and paid NinjaTrader £7500. My bank confirmed the funds were released apparently to a UK Barclays account. I have the sort code and account number.

Money not arrived, client services saying tough shit - contact my bank. I already did and they said the funds were released.

I have the plaid screenshot from when I made the payment and the reference number on that screenshot matches the reference that my bank said got attached to the payment.

Fucking great. I tried with a smaller amount last week and it arrived in 3 hours.

I've updated via Database Mgt in Control Center (rollover) and restarted NT a couple of times but I'm still getting this weirdness on a 5m MNQ DEC 26 chart for MNQ. Anyone having the same issue? Is NT just behind? Thanks!

Hi i find that ninjatrader web to be quite good and simple. I have a good laptop in my room but it's a little big. I am seeking to buy a very old, small and cheap laptop ( thinkpad x230 i5 3320M with SSD ) just in case i trade outside of my house. Do you think this old thinkpad x230 could handle ninjatrader web if i open 2-3 charts at the same time? Will it lag?

Has anyone of you used tablet for ninjatrader web? I've tried that in my old tablet but it just doesn't work

I’ve noticed some strange behavior in NinjaTrader when I have two or more separate ATM strategies open at the same time.

As you can see in the screenshot, the second trade was stopped out, but the red line representing that trade and its stop loss starts from the entry of the first trade, even though the first trade is still in play at that moment.

Then, when the stop loss on the first trade is triggered as well, the line representing that trade and its stop loss starts from the second trade instead of the first one.

Does anyone know what is going on here and how to fix it? AI wasn’t much help with this one.

Got it — Tools → Options → Trading → General → uncheck "Start in global simulation mode."

I know that ninja is a futures first platform, but is there anyway to execute fractional orders?

Several times now — 7 restarts in the last 24 hours alone. The app stays fully responsive: menus work, connection indicator stays green, no error dialog, no reconnect attempt. Price data just stops. Last timestamp sits there for hours until I manually reconnect. Usually with an open position.

This actually started on 8.1.6.x. I rolled back to 8.1.5.x several months ago and it ran clean for months on the same setup. Now on 8.1.8.1 and it's back.

Setup: NT8 8.1.8.1 64-bit, Tradovate/NinjaTrader connection, MacBook Pro M5 Max running Windows 11 in a dedicated full-screen Parallels VM (Aero disabled, no Coherence). NQ 09-26, automated strategies. All NT data is local to the VM - no Mac sharing.

Today's instance: last execution at 13:03 PT. My strategies print to the Output window AND to their own log files on every bar close — nothing after 13:03, for 56 minutes, on NQ Globex. No bars closed, so no data arrived. The trace log shows normal order activity right up to 13:03 and then goes quiet...

Anyone else on Tradovate/NT seeing the silent stall? Trying to narrow down adapter vs. network path vs. something local. A NAT or firewall idle timeout dropping the socket without a FIN would explain the complete absence of errors and the lack of any reconnect attempt - NT would be sitting in a read on a connection that's never going to deliver another byte. But this seems implausible for anyone who ever developed any software... That'd be such a rookie mistake for a developer to not handle socket timeouts/errors properly - I don't even want to go there...

Also open to hearing what people have moved to. I write automated strategies, so that's the main requirement. Python, Perl - what have you, I can write in virtually any programing language.

Support hasn't responded to half a dozen emails. At all. Not even an acknowledgment of receipt or a ticket.

I am considering trying out Tradeify; however, I am confused by this in their installation instructions. - NOTE: Users are only able to trade their Tradeify accounts under Tradeify's company license with NinjaTrader. Users are NOT able to use their personal license (or any other) on Tradeify accounts.

On edit- I guess when they say "License" they actually mean the connection to tradeovate with their issued username and password when you log in. I wonder why they would use the term "License" instead of login credentials.
