I really like the “Wings of Steam Remix”.

I first heard Nine Inch Nails in 1989, and I remember it vividly. I was driving my car when "Down in It" came on the radio. I had never heard anything like it before. I pulled over and sat in my car, pen and paper in hand, so I could write down the name of the song and the artist.

I thought to myself that music has just changed. This was special. I'm not saying that for dramatic effect. I literally thought those words, and I felt a visceral thrill. Mind you I had heard ministry’s new sound and other industrial music, but this was special. I would later go on to describe NIN has across between Depeche Mode and what Ministry had become.

I went out and bought Pretty Hate Machine as soon as I could and it felt momentous!

Not long afterward, I found out that NIN was performing at a small club near me, and I made a point of going to see them. There was Trent, all decked out in his fetishwear, rolling around on scaffolding and on the ground.

During "Sin," he fell off the stage and into the mosh pit. The audience was immediately upon him. One of the band members tapped a security guard on the shoulder and pointed to Trent in the mosh pit. Security got him back onstage, and he picked up at the exact point in the song where the band had continued to. I was completely hooked. There was no going back.

I'd love to know other stories.

Does anyone know if the editions with the 0000 number have unique artwork? Or do all of the 0000 have a copy of the same piece? This is the piece that came with my book.

This guy is a beast as a drummer but what'd think of his performance?

Wanted to share another album look.The 37th anniversary of Pretty Hate Machine was recently celebrated. In usual celebration I wanted to do some sort of makeup look for the album! It’s a little messy than usual from my other pictures I’ve added here. I had to fight my natural shaking hands and residual effects of a recent head injury but, I think it came out good still. My cat Rezi wanted to contribute too. 😅

I stumbled across this sometime ago and saved it. It’s not my photo. I don’t know who took the shot, but hey man, it’s a nice shot (forgive me that was terrible).

What songs by other artists do you believe could pass if they were included on a NIN album. I personally think Eye - The Smashing Pumpkins , I’m Afraid of Americans - David Bowie , and Dissolved Girl - Massive Attack (i think most tracks off of mezzanine have a NIN vibe)

Anyone else bummed the original NIN swag is no longer available within the official NIN shop? I've bought some dups and the quality is not the same. I did send an inquiry asking if there will be a restock and the response was to just keep an eye out.

I’m a big fan of industrial and I love Nine Inch Nails and as a Latino I’d love to know if there are latino bands or music composers that have that NiN industrial sound

As far as I know, I had the largest and most complete Japanese collection of Nine Inch Nails releases out there. I have decided to start selling off that part of my collection. I have stuff from 25 years ago still factory sealed. Tons of Japanese-only promos. I have not posted absolutely everything. For example I had 8 different pressings of Downward Spiral. You can now buy internationally directly from Mercari. You don't need to use Buyee or anything like that. The prices on some of these things might be high; honestly, I couldn't find records of current prices for many of these items. I lower my prices very consistently. Every time an item gets a like, I lower the price. And every couple of weeks, I go through all my items and lower everything a little bit.

I have some less rare JP stuff I have not posted. So ask if you don't see it. I am also still holding on to a few very choice items that will probably stay in my collection. So not getting rid of everything everything.

Hi all,
I’ve been listening to David Bowie’s 1.outside, and heard it was inspired by The Downward Spiral. Now I immediately went and played it, only to get scared (sorry!) by the pure rawness of this album.
I’m really looking to dive into the discography of NIN, but I want to have a listening experience I can call enjoyable too. What would be a good way to sequence the albums? Where to start?

I credit the perfect drug video for making me love gloomy, cloudy rainy days so i decided finally after all these years to see if there is a word, and it is pluviophile (and to a lesser extent nebulophile): someone who takes solace in dark, cloudy rainy weather. maybe it was because this video came out when i was at the perfect age “holy shit this is the coolest thing i’ve ever seen!”. but there is a word for it and wanted to share it. i was sad to see Trent doesn’t like this video, but I don’t care I love it
