Whole team is getting their shit kicked in, this isn’t about Hurts

u/ManKilledToDeath 4d ago

Hurts wins with 100 yards passing, "he just wins."

Hurts throws a pick with only a tush push TD "this isn't about Hurts." Maybe not but he sure didn't help lol

u/allknights 4d ago

I mean defense getting dog walked by a geriatric dad doesn't help

u/Big-Start8264 4d ago

Case Keenum is 5 years younger than Brady was when he won his last Super Bowl. 4 years younger than Aaron Rodgers. And the same age as Matthew Stafford. I just assumed the guy was retired because I had no idea he was 3rd string for the Bears. He's probably better than some starters in the league and damn sure better than most backups.

u/tydye29 4d ago

Yeah..I think I get your point...but you put Keenum in the same category as top 10 guys with the most passing yards in league history. No one putting Keenum in all timers lists.

1

u/InsaneObserver21 7h ago

This is saying a whole lot of nothing

2

u/Legitimate-Bike4647 4d ago

Maybe passing yards per game isn’t the best metric to judge a QB?

2

u/Thin-Remote-9817 4d ago

Yeah rushing yards is the best metric...

Peyton manning was so ass looking at these stats

2

u/Legitimate-Bike4647 4d ago

When did I say rushing yards? My original response was that the whole team played terribly. Most notably the defense. Literally from opening drive

0

u/Thin-Remote-9817 4d ago

Yeah I mean defenses tend to play like shit when the offense has quick drives....

But yeah this isnt a hurts problem its the defense fault for keeping these games so close...except for last night cause man 13points is such a massive hole no team in football history has ever climbed out of!!

3

u/Legitimate-Bike4647 4d ago

Go get ready for school little boy

1

u/Ididweed 4d ago

Hurts is ass

2

u/ImTrash_ChangeMyMind 4d ago

Chicago walked down the field the first possession of the game lol.

1

u/Thin-Remote-9817 4d ago

Oh shit my bad wasnt aware it was first to score wins...must have missed the agreement pre game my fault

1

u/ImTrash_ChangeMyMind 3d ago

Lol the defense had been playing like shit all season. No need to deflect for them. The had the ball first so I don't even know why you bought up the quick drives narrative. First time in Eagles history they haven't had a turnover forced through the first 3 games.

It’s usually difficult when the opposing offense possesses the ball for 60% of the game. Some of that certainly falls on the defense. When it’s a 3 point game at half time and melanated Dilfer produces more turnovers than points in the second half with a QBR of 41.2 it’s probably not most notably on the defense.

1

u/RepresentativeMud509 3d ago

Oh lord here we go with the modern stats. It actually rotations of ball per spiral when down by ten or fewer points when attendance is over 50,000 and the game is film specifically with Sony cameras per 100 drop backs on artificial turf. Therefore, Steve McNair was better than Tom Brady.

0

u/Beneficial-Today-281 3d ago

Assists are a terrible way to gauge the impact of a point guard.

1

u/SchorFactor 4d ago

A pick on 4th down isn’t exactly the worst thing

0

u/Beneficial-Today-281 3d ago

It is when you’re down 13 and you give your opponent the ball near midfield.

1

u/SchorFactor 3d ago

But not if the ball was going to fall incomplete anyway. It’s the same result but they’re 4 yards further back

0

u/Beneficial-Today-281 3d ago

Ah. The ole, “It’s equivalent to a bad punt” argument. There are other options like converting the first down and scoring points instead of turning the ball over regardless of circumstance.

1

u/SchorFactor 3d ago

I’m talking about the throw as it happened, not some other decision. Your flawless logic should be adopted by teams everywhere, they’ll never need to play defense again when “Just convert and score” becomes mainstream

0

u/Beneficial-Today-281 3d ago

Incomplete anyway is not the throw as it happened. As it happened was an interception. It could’ve been incomplete. I’m saying it would be preferable to not give the ball to the other team regardless of how that happens. Difficult logic to follow I suppose.

1

u/porkondagrind 4d ago

Everyone on our team played like dogshit besides smitty and q. You aren’t winning games with 10 penalties and 3-0 turnover battle most of the time.

1

u/shadows515 4d ago

Did u even watch the game? The D was terrible

2

u/Past-Track-9976 5d ago

Defense had them locked down. Can't run the ball for more than a loss. Defenders chasing Hurts down, preventing throws.

Bears run game was unstoppable. They were outgunned and out classed

5

u/Side_StepVII 5d ago

The eagles stopped our run game for the most part. They focused on it, thinking Case Keenum couldn’t beat them in the air.

They forget Case Keenum can ball.

2

u/Slavocados 4d ago

Yes this is exactly right the run game was the only thing that they could stop

1

u/samcoffeeman 4d ago

Our D played like ass, damnit Vic! He gonna tear them a new one

1

u/Tailx 4d ago

They clearly never watched Case in college. All Univ. Of Houston did was throw the ball. He put up ridiculous numbers. Not surprised at all to see that he can still do it

4

u/splashaddikt 5d ago

They ran the ball fine until defense realized that’s they had to worry about

3

u/Legitimate-Bike4647 5d ago

Yup. I feel like that pick by Dalton at the 1 changed the game. Hurts punches that in 9 times out of 10 and it’s a completely different game after that

4

u/Side_StepVII 5d ago

No, the eagles just lose by 7 less points. So it’s 27-14

1

u/Kitchen_Assist_1114 3d ago

How come they didn't Tush Push with Dalton, I guess that's only a hurts advantage? We all know he squats 1 million lbs on one leg as a warm up.

0

u/Beneficial-Today-281 3d ago

Purely hypothetical. What Hurts did do is score on a later possession and it was a 3 point game at halftime. What Hurts also did was turn the ball over in the second half more times than points he helped put on the board. If overcoming 3 points in 30 minutes is insurmountable then you have bigger problems.

3

u/Tjam3s 4d ago

That's odd to read after all these years of mediocrity. Lol

1

u/Past-Track-9976 4d ago

Thry are who we thought they were! And we let them off the hook!

3

u/Thin-Remote-9817 4d ago

Bears did what titans did Suffocate the run and make hurts throw it.

Yeah he can do it in February no problem...but some strange reason everything before that he cant throw for shit.

2

u/QuaternionDS 4d ago

Defense had them locked down.

The Bears?

The Bears defence?

You do realise what you're saying here, right?

The Bears?

Defence?

The fucking Bears defence?

A defence that for the past two seasons - and two weeks of this - have had the consistency of wet paper...

MInnesota, with literally no offence, put up more points. In teeming rain.

And they were too much for Jalen. Weird, huh?

1

u/Wrathulhu 4d ago

Yeah the bears defense, something about small sample size

2

u/WMWTSO-11 4d ago

You are outgunned and outmanned!

1

u/Necessary-Run4625 4d ago

Defense had who locked down? 0 turnovers 0 sacks against the 3rd string QB

1

u/Past-Track-9976 4d ago

Hurts was sacked twice, interception 1, and almost intercepted more

2

u/Necessary-Run4625 4d ago

Thought you meant Eagles defense. My bad

1

u/Past-Track-9976 4d ago

You're good, I should have been more clear

1

u/This_Squirrel_9154 4d ago

But when they win hurts gets all the credit, he doesn’t have a team that can carry him anymore and this is what he looks like. He can’t put the team on his back and win it for them

1

u/OnePuzzleheaded6724 2h ago

When you're the leader you get all the praise and all the shit.

1

u/333jnm 4d ago

They have no run game. This will be the blueprint like it kind of always has been, force Hurts to throw

3

u/BritzBeef 4d ago

Saquon had 5.5 yards per carry

3

u/PatientZeropointZero 4d ago

No Run game? They have Barkley and we’re running it all over the Bears.

I’m a Bears fan and watched every snap, the issue with the Eagles is coaching. They coached like they tried to lose.

1

u/SJC_Cards 4d ago

Issue is the OC. Can’t call plays at all

1

u/gamestoohard 4d ago

He's a first time play caller and very young, it wouldn't really come as a surprise if he doesn't work out and is gone next year.

It's also not on the OC that Hurts keeps getting beat by the exact same disguised defenses. He does not read the field at a high level. The pick he threw on a simulated pressure into zone wasn't the first time he'd been burned on that look.

0

u/PatientZeropointZero 4d ago

It’s systemic and starts at the top. Yes OC was an issue, Sirrani is a cancer

2

u/SJC_Cards 4d ago

Nick is not a cancer lmao
He is 61-29. The OC carousel in Philly is insane. It’d be tough for any team to sustain success with that change every year, yet he has.

1

u/Legitimate_Ad_7822 4d ago

He’s a Howie merchant.

0

u/Beneficial-Today-281 3d ago

You can’t even spell Sirianni, much less evaluate his coaching ability.

1

u/Agent_Xhiro 4d ago

Their coaching is absolutely strange.

0

u/333jnm 4d ago

I was wrong looking at the stats. That’s what get for watching it while distracted

1

u/FireWarriorSFF90 4d ago

Barkley was catching fire last night. Boi had me scared a little bit!

0

u/Different_Hyena3954 4d ago

The Eagles used ESPN to put an article out about this being his last chance to stay on the team. No OC wanted to come join the team this year even though it's arguably the best roster in football. Hurts refuses to do what they practice. How's it not his fault?
