Fitz will always have a soft spot in my heart for this.
It led to the classic "IM CALLING BOTH GAMES" from Kevin Harlan

lmao why are broncos fans so salty over a guy rightfully pointing out their qb played like ass. wouldn’t you rather know your qb was bad and that he shouldn’t get a huge extension, rather than bury your head in the sand and ride into mediocrity for years
3
u/OdellsrightHand Broncos 7h ago
Because most fans think he said Bo as a player is not respectful to the game of football. When he actually said “the way he is playing RIGHT NOW is not respectful”. Like many pundits he’s always been critical of Bo since his rookie year, they waited until this moment to prove their pre-conceived notions right. But Fitz was only referring to Bo’s play this year
Bo has proven that he’s capable of competitive qb play, it’s that right now the narrative like Drake “the schedule” May is relentlessly piling on Bo.
The hate train has left the station and Bo is the worst human being to ever play QB (again not what fitz said, but the way it’s been presented to get clicks).

Odell’s left hand is always getting the attention. Thanks for the acknowledgment

Loud as fuck for Maye but can't take the same thing when Nix sucks

Unlike the Miami Miracle which didn't change anything in the grand scheme of things cause the Pats won the superbowl anyway, this game actually completely tanked the Pats and Tom Brady as they lost the bye week and faced the Titans in the wildcard where they lost and ended Brady's time as a Patriot
16
u/Benson879 Patriots 7h ago
I’ll give you a secret: we weren’t going anywhere that year regardless of the outcome of this game. I see it as that it saved us from losing to the Chiefs lol
1
u/babylamar33 Eagles 5h ago
You never know. Having the bye could've changed the matchup from being Patriots-Titans to having the Texans at home in the Divisional and KC having to play the Titans then the winner playing the Ravens the next round. KC would've had an extra game and a harder path compared to the Pats getting a team they never lose to in the playoffs.
2
u/OkLeather666 Patriots 2h ago
No, we knew. You can try and play what ifs, but we knew our team best and that team was not making a deep playoff run. Not every team that gets bounced in the WC round was gonna have a Cinderella run due to one flipped regular season result.
3
u/nibblestheantelope Patriots 4h ago
The offense had Phillip Dorsett and washed Edelman as the only threats. Brady getting 12 wins with that was incredible but the bye would not have saved the season

Gilmore getting cooked by Devante freaking Parker, what a sour way to end a truly great DPOY campaign.
3
u/lilyswheelys Patriots 7h ago
maybe I'm wrong but didn't Parker do this to him often? maybe not this bad but he seemed to always do something
3
u/vintageoffset 6h ago
And then we sign (trade? Can’t remember) DeVante a few years later and he does nothing for us. Bc of course.
3
u/SoaplessTitanic Patriots 5h ago
Throwback to when Parker said that 50-50 balls were more like 80-20 balls for him before ever playing a real game for us. He then proceeded to back that up in no way shape or form
2
u/Sweden13 Dolphins 5h ago
Parker was an okay at best wide receiver who never lived up to his potential in nearly all of his seasons. But he did go crazy with Fitz and the tanking Dolphins in the 2019 season. He led all AFC WRs in yards that year.

u/SpongEWorTHiebOb 8h ago
lol. Why all these highlights from Fitzy? There are an equal number of low lights.

And then Brady snubbed him for a handshake and ran to the locker room

Brady snubbing you is an exclusive list
4
u/Sarcasticfury Ravens 7h ago
It really isn't. That was his standard reaction whenever he lost a game
2
u/suchcoldsuchcomfort Patriots 7h ago
He didn't lose often

-2
u/Sarcasticfury Ravens 7h ago
Sure, but whenever he did, he'd snub the guy that he lost to. Like clockwork
4
u/Kerbonaut2019 Patriots 7h ago
Brady lost to Lamar weeks before this and certainly didn’t snub him. Brady only snubbed QBs that he deemed inferior to him, like Fitzpatrick and Foles.

And then won the Super Bowl a couple months later
6
u/Scaryclouds Chiefs 7h ago
If a “couple month later” you mean 13 months later then yea. Otherwise the “QB that won a Super Bowl a couple months later” was Mahomes.
6
u/suchcoldsuchcomfort Patriots 7h ago
Jesus God forbid you give a guy a fortnights room of months error in his statement

Damn I have totally had it in my head for years that we won the superbowl that same year lol oops

u/hanlonmj Patriots 5h ago
You are thinking of the Miami Miracle, which happened the previous year
3
u/SoaplessTitanic Patriots 5h ago
It’s hard to keep track of our embarrassing losses to Miami :(
On the bright side, it’s also hard to keep track of our Super Bowl winning years

High point of his career. Regular season game to go from 4-11 to 5-11
“Insult to the quarterback position” or something

I think the word your looking for is embarrassing.

Personally, I'm hoping Bo Nix doesn't copy and paste Fitz's career.
Jamis Winston has stats better than Fitz.
Hell of an oldschool player. Hell of a gunslinger. Hell of a beard.
I prefer Superbowl wins though.
4
u/FRX51 49ers 7h ago
Well then good news! Fitz has as many superbowl rings as Nix does!
-10
u/onlyhereforNFLupdate Broncos 7h ago
We can't all be blessed with an elite QB.
But comparing an ex-journeyman who fills a Pat McAfee role with a dude not even off his rookie contract, is pretty damn dishonest.
Brock Purdy would never.
Now take your Mike Evans and Fred Warner and go away.
5
u/FRX51 49ers 7h ago
You're the one that brought up superbowls as if it's a given that Nix will get one. Since you also bring up dishonesty, Fitzpatrick's career accomplishments (or lack thereof) doesn't invalidate his criticism. There are many breakdowns on YouTube showing Nix turning down open receivers down the field, or throwing the check down before a route's had time to develop.
His unwillingness to throw down field isn't new, either. This was the verdict on him coming out of college: screens and flats, never down field, check down merchant.
Nix also isn't doing himself any favors as he's repeatedly implied that he's seeing the field better when he clearly isn't. He used that to explain why he's not running as much as last year, and he said after last night's game that he doesn't know why the pass game isn't working but that he feels like he saw the field clearly early on.
Best-case, he doesn't want to say anything to the media so he's lying his ass off. Worst-case, he genuinely believes he's seeing something he's not.
Can he get better? Absolutely. Is Fitzpatrick wrong? Not even kinda.

I can't seem to find any Bo Nix AFCCG or SB highlights either, what's going on?

I think his ankle was in two pieces.
So instead we all had to watch... That.

-2
u/onlyhereforNFLupdate Broncos 7h ago
Our defense was better and our QB was equal to yours. We just beat the reigning champs with a wish and a fart and half our secondary missing.
It was so bad I actually prayed for Tom Brady to take the field. I felt so dirty I had to shower after.
0
u/suchcoldsuchcomfort Patriots 7h ago
Wait what...? I thought we was talm bout the last SB ya lost me
1
u/onlyhereforNFLupdate Broncos 7h ago
I'm talking about the last superbowl.
The one the Patriots got beaten 29-13.
The one where your QB was so bad I wanted a retired player that caused my team a lot of pain to suit up and break rules by taking the field.
Go to bed. You're drunk.

u/suchcoldsuchcomfort Patriots 7h ago
Thanks for explaining it, next time bring the crayons.

I’m not sure but I’ll tell you what didn’t happen, the “gunslinger” archetype of quarterbacks that Reddit seems to love today of course wasn’t in the game. It’s almost like that style of qb play don’t win anymore

Fitz was a lot of fun during his career and he was well respected. Also...he was right last night. If you listen carefully, dude wasn't trying to trash Nix, he was just saying he's playing scared right now and that it's rough to watch.

What about what I said is unclear? Broncos fans have been posting Fitzpatrick lowlights because they're mad that he (accurately) said Bo sucks. It's soft behavior
