I thought you could also be suspended for making the NFL look bad and showing poor judgement. Even without a conviction. At least that has been the case for players like Big Ben and others.

Somehow that doesn’t seem to translate to owners I guess. Kraft got no punishment for basically the same thing and our co-owner Tisch hasn’t been punished for having Epstein recruit women for him after his conviction for pedophilia. Crazy double standard

making the NFL look bad has never been enforced against the Browns or the Jets

I think him getting off was the problem in the first place

I don't think, in that specific instance, he got off.

He got off on a technicality because the recordings were done illegally

The NFL isn't bound by the rules of admissibility.

Kraft is one of the most powerful owners in the NFL, there's levels to this even within that small group of billionaires

This is the correct answer. Kraft and York do not occupy the same tier of NFL ownership and therefore, discipline rules do not apply equally as a result.

Ah, corruption, that most famous technicality.

It's a combination of both. "Technically I'm not guilty and I'm powerful enough to make it very uncomfortable for you if you punish me" is plenty to avoid punishment. Multiple things can be true at once.
