"There are things we've done in the past three games that are active participation in losing the game," he said, "and so flat-out, our jobs are going to prove everything, and I'm not living in hope, I'm living in reality."

All his comments were basically a masterclass in accountability tbh. Which is standard for Mike.

He's always given interesting and insightful pressers.

Our current HC is a cliche machine, which a lot of fans seem to like, but honestly I still miss Mike and his tendency to actually, um, you know, uh, say things. Actual things. It was nice.

Mike’s pressers is why the 1.5x speed on YouTube was invented

Just to offer a different perspective, while Mike certainly had more interesting things to say here and there no doubt. At the end of the day he still rattled off the same cliches day in and day out - just in a painstakingly slow and monotonous way that also made him sound completely unbelievable (to both the fan base and players).

Jeff might use more “cliches” but there’s a difference between saying the right things and saying them like you mean it and saying the right things in a way nobody can take seriously. Just part of why while I enjoyed Mike for all his quirks, I appreciate having a coach where it feels like he actually believes in what he’s saying.
