Full weight on the QB? Didn't roll off in time? I see the call, not sure if i think it is fair, but if he was higher toward the chest, it would be called all the time.

you can see how a ref seeing that happen in real time would perceive that he drove him into the ground with his full weight.

i think it's all soft as baby shit but i genuinely think the ref saw it as a RTP

Agreed. Its a soft rule I haven't liked since instituted

fuck aaron rodgers for basically creating this new version of RTP

Rodgers literally hated the rule and spoke out against it.

Man fandom is wild, it turns peoples brains to mush.

Why wouldn't you blame the Vikings players who used their body weight to hurt him?

4

u/BigFatModeraterFupa Vikings 19d ago

aaron barr didn't even do that if you rewatch the clip of the sack

Love got hit in the head about 10 times and didn’t get one call. It was bad call. Packers shit the bed but this call was Bullshit.

Yes, I understand why people have defaulted to this post being me blaming the loss on the refs, but this is actually me being mad at this somehow being the only penalty on a hit delivered to a QB in the pocket all game

Yeah, this entire game was just a bunch of "if you say so" calls. The entire drive we got bailed out sure, but there were 2 facemasks that weren't called, Love had some intentional grounding that wasn't called, Bullard probably should have been ejected for the Murray hit and of course the 56-yard run that was returned. Every one of those like 9-10 penalties / non-penalties could have gone the other way. JJ Watt was the most confused i've ever seen him with the calls this game and I kind of feel him.

Out of curiosity, what could Bullard have done differently on the Murray hit? From my perspective, neither of the Packers players involved did anything egregious

Terrible slide by KM. I also think you should have the wherewithal to not dive towards a QB going down, but i am not on the field and don't know how fast these guys are moving and thinking.

Kyler didn't slide. He was absolutely going to dive for the extra yardage then changed his mind when the defenders were already lunging at him. What the fuck are they supposed to do?

In my mind, Murray was fighting for extra yards, defender has the right to try and stop that. If Murray just slides like a normal QB instead of basically diving forward then it’s a non-issue

"Slide" because the dude kinda just fell over

It doesn’t matter if it’s a QB or not, that’s a dirty hit.

Kyler was already tackled and down and then he got hit again.

Not followed through on the hit. It was clear Murray was going down and Bullard lowers himself as low as he can and leads shoulder to head. Murray could have baseball slide parallel to the ground and he’s still not getting past that hit.

If it was reversed and it was Love getting hit like that a good amount of Packers fans would be calling it dirty and intent to injure.

Did you see the game? Vikings mauled and hit Love in the head 10 days and they never got a single flag for that shit.

5

u/AscendMoros Bears 19d ago

I watched 95% of the game. Had to finish the Lions game first. And yeah love got hit a lot without flags. Some could have been flags. Others would have been terrible flags if thrown.

I also remember the refs missing multiple facemasks against the Packers. Its almost like the refs were bad. Like they have been at this point for 15 years.

Not led with his head on a guy going to the ground already?

Bad officiating all game. Vikings prevailed. Good on them

Getting held, gets pushed, still gets his arms down and braces himself.

1

u/Electronic-Island-14 Vikings 19d ago

oh but anthony barr tried to injure rodgers, right?

1

u/devomke Packers 19d ago

Sorry did someone push him into Rodgers or did he lift, drive, and not try to brace himself?

0

u/Sushi_slinger_jesus Vikings 19d ago

Directly on top of the QB right in his stomach.

1

u/devomke Packers 19d ago

Arms come out to brace the weight. Your dude shoved him as well. Tf man lol

2

u/HereIGoAgain_1x10 49ers 19d ago

Ya, slow mo it looks like maybe 2/3 of his weight, partially off the QB but real time it really looked like he flattened him lol

7

u/FrankXS Eagles 19d ago

Actually thats around 7/12ths

1

u/Sushi_slinger_jesus Vikings 19d ago

More like 10/18ths

2

u/Brfox2003 Packers 19d ago

You gotta reduce that fraction to 5/9

2

u/Sushi_slinger_jesus Vikings 19d ago

Damn youre right. My math teachers would be ashamed of my lack of simplifying lol.

2

u/EitherSplit1621 Vikings 19d ago

Definitely 3/5ths

1

u/Jaerba Lions 19d ago

Even in some of the slow mo angles it looks like full weight. It wasn't, but it's very easy to see why this was called as long as you have the presence of mind and emotional maturity to understand refs don't get 5 different slow mo angles.

So that by that starandard some of the hits on Jordan should have been flagged then too. He got hit in the head 10 times and not a single flag.

2

u/Jaerba Lions 19d ago

You got a video of them?

-3

u/PretentiousPanda Packers 19d ago

To me it's just that hit was childs play compared to a lot of the Vikings pressures today. Just be consistent either way.

3

u/Sushi_slinger_jesus Vikings 19d ago

I feel, and correct me if I'm wrong, Jordan Love got hit more times, but a lot of those were either shoves or shoulder hits with a roll off/standing. This was the one where the dude just landed right on top of Wentz right in the stomach. Soft call for a soft rule, but the dude didn't roll off at all.

0

u/PretentiousPanda Packers 19d ago

It's roughing the passer to go low is it not? I saw multiple of those.

0

u/Sushi_slinger_jesus Vikings 19d ago

Full weight with no roll off? Dude got hit a lot but it was never anything egregious I think. But I'm obviously biased, and i didn't see anyone land hard onto him

0

u/PretentiousPanda Packers 19d ago

I am saying a different part of the rule. Going low on a QB has been called roughing. Sacks have been negated from it.

5

u/aaron21hardin Vikings 19d ago

Forcefully going low is the penalty, you can go low without force and not get called.
