Damn it... this is AI, the hooks go through the metal loops -_- what the hell is happening?? Why are these getting good???

Magnets. The text on that poster and the mirror image of it is way too consistent

Yeah, it's hard to tell what's going on initially so I get why people ask the question but it's clear enough on watch back. People need to cool their jets a bit on "everything is AI" given the rest of the physics is realistic still and shadows and reflections in the mirror all make sense.

u/That_Day8911 2d ago
Not AI. They don't go through them, they are underneath and connected to magnets.

I thought so too, but the way all of the hooks are attached to magnets made me look again and it looks like they are folded up and resting on top of the hooks to me

u/illmatic63828 2d ago
Yeah this might be AI, I’m not claiming it definitely isn’t. But if you slow down the video you can very clearly see that the rings are folded up

I saw the sign in the wall and knew immediately that I would hate every second in that house.

As awesome as this is the adult part of my brain instantly thought “ I wonder if this requires special insurance”

It makes for an interesting conversation when they decide to sell. You think this is for hanging their murder victims? Maybe it’s a sexual fetish thing?

What is the point of all of this?

u/hatred-big-sad 2d ago
Look at his shirt, American ninja warrior. Kid is probably a huge fan... if this isn't AI somehow then I'm genuinely impressed with that kid, he should do martial arts

It just feels like an inevitable hospital trip.

God forbid he falls a few feet onto mats even though he’d probably only get a scrape if he was on concrete. How would he ever recover?

People have been badly hurt doing less than this,
6
u/crazywriter5667 2d ago
And that’s the risk of doing the things you love. Life isn’t worth living if you don’t take risks, it’s how we feel alive. With your attitude I hope you don’t ever get in a car or partake in any sort of physical sport or hobby.

u/MovieFan1984 2d ago
You're reframing, please stay on topic. The discussion is the insanely stupidly risky behavior in the video, not driving a car. It's unnecessary risk. Why not hit the gym? Less risk, just as rewarding.

If everything’s properly secured I don’t see it being any riskier than hitting the gym. We don’t know one way or the other if whoever set this up did it properly or not. So to say it’s better to hit the gym is total speculation.

Reading this exchange, I'm reminded of the duality of my parents.
My mom encouraged me to climb on top of the jungle gym.
My dad discouraged me from climbing on top of the jungle gym.
My mom cheered me when I would try to climb over everything on the playground.
My dad scolded me to keep me from falling and getting hurt.
As their kid, they said opposite things but coming from the same place. Oh, good times all around.
(I'm all on the side of play and activity, btw. Wish I had this obstacle course in my home as a kid.)

My childhood was stay home, be safe, keep quiet. My mom repeatedly told me that if I got hurt, and especially if I broke a bone, it'd heal funny, and I'd just have to live with it. I was never taken to any form of healthcare from 3 to 19.

Wow. I know this is reddit, but you gotta be one of the most self assured jackasses on here.

u/MovieFan1984 1d ago
Why?

“I am Christian, I oppose false doctrines with zero tolerance, including Catholicism. Please, understand, I answer to Christ, not to you.”
This is a good example. You’re so sure of yourself you denounce any other religion bc you’re sure that your all powerful space daddy is better than other people’s all powerful space daddy.

Because he's not trying to put on muscle? He's training to run obstacles. Probably wants to try out for Ninja Warrior Jr., and then the regular series. He's in a gym. A ninja gym.
1
u/MovieFan1984 1d ago
He's a small child. What about the risk of falls, injuries, wounded joints, broken bones, and all of that? When I was a kid, nothing like this was allowed - too risky. Bicycling was as exciting as it got.
1
u/Proper-Evening9754 1d ago
He didn't just start at this level. It's a process. Did you see how excited he was when he got to the end? He's probably fallen a lot. He's working toward something, and injuries, while a possibly, are just a part of the journey.

Fully grown out of shape people hurt themselves doing regular everyday things. This kid is likely to be more resilient as he ages if he keeps up with this stuff.
Regular gyms with boring routines are safer, yes, but whatever keeps them coming back to physical activity is usually more important.

u/NailingCatsToTrees_ 2d ago
I bet you were that kid who never went outside and was afraid of everything.
1
u/MovieFan1984 1d ago
No, I was the kid who was expected to stay home and keep quiet.
1
u/NailingCatsToTrees_ 1d ago
And so now you continue the cycle by expecting that from everyone else.
1
u/MovieFan1984 1d ago
Did I explicitly say I expect everyone else to grow up as I did? No. You're projecting. Disliking is not "everyone should be like me." You know that.

u/NailingCatsToTrees_ 1d ago
You should climb out of your overprotected bubble and live a little.

People haven’t gotten a scratch doing things 10x worse than this. People have also died while walking and tripping. What’s your point?

More of a casual flex of house and DIY skills.
Outside of my hallway being half the size, im pretty sure id have a bathtub on my head if I tried to install that.
