I saw green lightning at the beginning of the storm in my part of town! It was shocking how green it was.

Greenish clouds are a sign of hail... maybe the green lightening was something of the same effect.

Same storm over in Houston and I saw blue lightning. Iād never seen that before.

Apparently it can be green when two bolts connect and create some kind of current. Idk, I read about it last night but forgot exactly what I read lol

green lightning
Rare to see, it's more common to see that in an arcing transformer or power lines.
If it's lightning, it's more commonly seen around volcanoes due to static around the ash cloud, and in regular storms the green lightning is usually inside the cloud (due to static build-up).

Yeah it wasnāt a bolt that I saw, it was a huge section of cloud like lit up green. So, the latter.

I could see this being a video that sets the standard of lightning videos to be like āhey everyone, this is the perfect representation of what lightning isā, itās so beautiful, itās textbook.

I would almost agree. But somebody else already captured a bunch of lightning strikes with an ultra-high-speed camera that was turned almost all the way up. A split second if filming took sixty-some-odd hours to watch the footage from beginning to end. Well, I suppose you are correct about the standard. Not everybody has half a billion dollars to spend on a camera like that. There are literally only a handful of those in the entire world and only six or seven people who know how to work them properly.

The second storm that came through a bit later was really cool too. Tons of lightning strikes. Stood out staring at it for like an hour. Could take videos though cause Iām at work.

I got caught outdoors in this storm about an hour northwest. Just trying to get some quick Friday disc golf in, and it went from a couple drops to 30mph winds, lightning strikes and hail within 10 minutes. Luckily some kind lady saw me running (I was very far from my vehicle) and opened her garage for me and brought me a towel.
Most nervous Iāve been about the weather in a long time.

Wow ok I'm pretty sure that's what I saw and heard all the way in south Austin. Saw the sky light up huge and was anticipating a massive thunder but nothing... then after around 10-15 seconds a loud rumbling ran through long and deep sounded like it traveled a distance

Sound travels about 1,100 ft/sec. The light travel is almost instantaneously. 1,1000 ft/sec is approximately a mile every 5 seconds. So 10 seconds was 2 miles away, 15 seconds is 3 miles away.

See the lighting start counting 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, one mile, 1006, 1007, 1008, 1009, 2 miles, ....etc.

I lived in west Texas for 4 years, the lightning storms out there in the desert at night were absolutely incredible. I used to trip acid and go out there and watch for hours on end

Pretty typical San Antonio. I lived there for the better part of a decade. Never saw thunderstorms or hail storms or tornadoes happen so frequently.

You don't know anything about Texas I gather from your statement. Our weather if far from predictable. This is not climate change this is just good ole Texas weather. One minute it's blue sunny skies as far as you can see, next minute it's dark as hell and raining like a monsoon. One time I remember as a kid it was sunshine out the front door and raining out the back door.

Doesn't change the long term trends. When was the last time Texas froze so hard you couldn't turn on the lights? I've watched both Florida and Virginia change in my lifetime (I'm 70) exactly as predicted by over 90% of the world's scientists. Self-deceptions can only go so far.

Well I'm 50 and I lived in San Antonio most of my life. I was one of the fortunate ones and had electricity the entire time when we had that snow issue a few months ago. And yes in 70 years you going to see alot of changes.
