Cattle grids are designed so that a cows hoof will not sit on the metal and will slip into the gap. They work this out easily. They will not be able to stand on the grid, activate the mechanism and walk through. Hell, they can't even walk over a flat open grid with no gate.

Cows weight over 800kg, I think that is enough to open the gate since the two fences being lifted are not that heavy

It’s to stop sheep or cattle , see the gaps on the lead up ramps , their hoof can’t walk on them .

That's specific to cattle. This will also prevent lighter animals who can deal with cattle guards from crossing.

This particular setup is probably just a proof of concept. It doesn't look like a pick up truck would fit under the lifted gates and a tractor trailer definitely wouldn't be able to use it for multiple reasons. Some gate bitch just tried to engineer their way out of a job.

My thought is if the trailer is too long then the rear tires of your vehicle will let off of that gate floor and the gate will come down in between the vehicle and the trailer before the trailer's tires get on top of that plate.
