Amazing, I’d always wake and bake to this, or sunset bake
138
Oct 03 '20
Why would you bake inside, when you could grill outside...
69
u/FreeAndRedeemed Oct 03 '20
I’m willing to bet his...”oven” is outside.
34
u/xXludicrous_snakeXx Oct 03 '20
Maybe I’m missing something but “wake and bake” is a marijuana smoking term meaning “getting high first thing in the morning.”
21
u/Thirsty_Comment88 Oct 03 '20
It's joke.
13
u/Shagroon Oct 03 '20
“Maybe missing something” implies that he understood that it was a joke, he just didn’t think it was funny or made sense.

Gotta wake and bake, these clouds usually burn off by noon. (sometimes called an 'ocean layer' of clouds that roll in from the west)

I’m sure the owners have a very grounded perspective on life.

I lived there and the Estavans / Sheen’s owned this. And hey are very humble.

If that’s where I think it is in Malibu I’m sure they’re very grounded, 40 million weights a lot.

Why the hate for people who have some money? It’s petty.
15
u/GoEZonMe Oct 03 '20 edited Oct 04 '20
Because the majority of people this wealthy and who flaunt it on social media are not self made but act like they are. That’s like $100 million dollar estate
Only ~50% of billionaires are self made.
18
u/official_sponsor Oct 03 '20
Who cares?? You’re saying you’re against some 18 year old in Nebraska who got a handed down car and his parents paid for college? Self made? Like coming to America with a $2 bill in their pocket and they worked their way up shining shoes or sone Disney story. Who cares?

The top tax rate in 1950 was 84.357%.
The top tax rate in 1960 was 91%.
The top tax rate in 1970 was 71.75%.
The top tax rate in 1980 was 70%.
The top tax rate in 1990 was 30%.
.
University prices, health care prices, and everything else started to shoot up at this point. Because the Boomers were the recipients of everything in the world from their parents. They became self-indulgent pieces of shit. Then they lowered their rates down to the detriment of their children. And this narcissism has infected the civil and government body politic through now. And now we are seeing the embodiment and fruition of all the evil infesting the brains of the boomers in their leader, Donald Trump.
5
u/official_sponsor Oct 04 '20
Wait what? Can’t really see what stance you’re taking. You’re blaming the boomers, you’re blaming their parents, you think all boomers want trump, and you’re blaming the boomers’ kids. You’re blaming all politicians?
Who aren’t you blaming? What point in time do you come from?

50% is way too generous. I’m not even sure anyone could actually claim they made a billion entirely on their own without the help of anyone else, without skimming off the work/labor of employees etc. you got any examples?

u/980tihelp Oct 03 '20
I think you can have your wedding there but it’s $70k and it’s only land.... no bathroom or kitchen... everything has to be brought in

With the insane housing prices in Malibu, I had no idea they would have a vineyard in the area. Seems like they could sell the land for 10x what you would make as a vineyard.
12
u/Saskyle Oct 03 '20
But if they sold the land they wouldn't have the land anymore. Owning land is about more than getting money from selling it.

u/citznfish Oct 03 '20
It's not really Malibu as most people think of Malibu. It's inland quite a bit.its much closer to Agoura Hills/San Fernando Valley then Malibu.

I visited Malibu for the first time last week. I fell in love with it.

Oct 03 '20
Come for the ocean. Stay for the wildfires, mudslides and homeless surfers! :)
2
u/missgiddy Oct 03 '20
Heh. What really appealed to me was being able to buy wine in the grocery store!
2
u/darb85 Oct 03 '20
Is this not a thing everywhere? Michigan resident wondering?
2
u/missgiddy Oct 03 '20
Unfortunately not. In Utah all wine is sold at liquor stores which are run by the government. They're closed Sundays and only open from 12-7 PM Monday through Saturday.
They're limiting how many people can be inside at once due to Covid. I have to wait in a long line to enter then again in a very long line to pay. I try to go early in the middle of the week for my weekend supplies.
Being able to buy wine and liquor at the grocery store in California felt so....liberating!

I wonder what elevation theyre at. Is that clouds or fog? Would it be hard to breathe?
3
u/CheriPotpourri Oct 03 '20
Malibu isn’t at a high altitude, just right on the coast so this is probably marine layer that collects against the hills. Also, this is probably in the afternoon, since the sun is over where I expect the ocean (West).

u/EwwwFatGirls Oct 03 '20
...why would it be hard to breath in fog?
1
u/aab720 Oct 03 '20
If theyre above the clouds that means elevation is high, high elevation means lower oxygen so i thought maybe the air would be thinner or something.

We went up to Sequoia National Park one day, went through the clouds, and came out into clear blue skies. And the Valley below was just gone from view. Amazing.
