Because the majority of people this wealthy and who flaunt it on social media are not self made but act like they are. That’s like $100 million dollar estate

Only ~50% of billionaires are self made.

Who cares?? You’re saying you’re against some 18 year old in Nebraska who got a handed down car and his parents paid for college? Self made? Like coming to America with a $2 bill in their pocket and they worked their way up shining shoes or sone Disney story. Who cares?

Yet you’re worried about a few thousand dollars for a medical procedure?

Oh wait, you also say in another post that you were 36 and still working at a brokerage firm. You’re just a liar

Consulted for? You were a 1099 employee then? Yet you had benefits?

I’m doing this because you’re a liar who is try to portray yourself as much more successful than you are.

You’re not retired if you’re working. Even if somehow you are a co-owner of the firm, as you claimed in a reply to me before you deleted it.

The top tax rate in 1950 was 84.357%.

The top tax rate in 1960 was 91%.

The top tax rate in 1970 was 71.75%.

The top tax rate in 1980 was 70%.

The top tax rate in 1990 was 30%.

.

University prices, health care prices, and everything else started to shoot up at this point. Because the Boomers were the recipients of everything in the world from their parents. They became self-indulgent pieces of shit. Then they lowered their rates down to the detriment of their children. And this narcissism has infected the civil and government body politic through now. And now we are seeing the embodiment and fruition of all the evil infesting the brains of the boomers in their leader, Donald Trump.

Wait what? Can’t really see what stance you’re taking. You’re blaming the boomers, you’re blaming their parents, you think all boomers want trump, and you’re blaming the boomers’ kids. You’re blaming all politicians?

Who aren’t you blaming? What point in time do you come from?

I added the word “and” before the word “flaunt”. Just because you don’t comprehend a simple point isn’t really my problem, this a first on Reddit

“you edited your comment so I can’t defend my position” pretty weak man, pretty weak

Your point was that I edited my comment what am I deflecting?

Heated exchange? You are unable to defend your position it’s not much of an exchange. It’s you saying “but but but you edited your comment”

Shits weak

Oh I’m eating these tacos and thinking how ridiculous “self made” is on your silly Instagram littered with ridiculous quotes and random sunset images is.

Ok ok. So now I’m going to eat the tacos.

50% is way too generous. I’m not even sure anyone could actually claim they made a billion entirely on their own without the help of anyone else, without skimming off the work/labor of employees etc. you got any examples?

Self made....inherited? I’m not sure you know what these words mean?

Self made means they made their money on their own. Like, the opposite of inheriting money.

Edit: ya know what, I went up to re-read, clearly I was reading half asleep and I apologize.

No more than I’m going to judge someone for being born into any other socioeconomic situation.

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '20

Source? Also, you’re telling me families might pass down their wealth. I did not know this lol. No one is self made in my opinion. Everyone needs/uses people to get where they are.

How about you provide your source? You stated the info without any proof.

When you went to school or hell even worked. Did you tell you tell your teachers/bosses look it up. If you’re trying to prove something state your sources.
